I have a confession:
I never really wanted to do Elf on the Shelf. It seemed like a lot of trouble. A couple of years - I couldn't find her when I got out the Christmas decorations and then I had to buy a new one. And when the girls were little - she basically just moved from spot to spot and a lot of days it was 6 a.m. when I remembered in a panic.
But over the years - she has become something fun and magical. The kids love her! And they jump out of bed every day in December to find her. They love to see what she might do. And since I'm pretty sure this is the last year to have a house of believers (and I'm shocked we made it this long)......Madeline has stepped it up this year. Instead of just moving around - she's a little more fun! It doesn't hurt that companies got smart and made a lot of "Elf on the Shelf" products this year. She has brought fruit snacks and cereal.
Some nights Scott is in charge and he's way more crafty than me. This was ALL HIM.
Also him.
This might seem creepy but Madeline left a note saying she had taken "Elfies". The kids LOVED this!!!!
The girls are really into leaving her PAGES and PAGES of questions. I really will miss the magic. Yes - it can be a pain but it's such a short window that you can do this stuff. And I can't get this time back. So I'm enjoying it this year!
In other Christmas news - Will Holden had his Christmas party at preschool on Monday. I had to miss but I had at least 4 friends send me pictures which made me SO happy!
He had a GREAT time!
Yesterday was Harper's middle school choir concert. One of my best friends has a 6th grader in the choir so we got to sit together which made me so happy! Will Holden was proud to sit with the big boys.
Only two days left and then we are on Christmas break for almost 2.5 weeks!
