Well - if you have a little girl - you know it's like a rite of passage.
The day they get scissors in their hand and cut their own hair. It's really only a matter of time.
I have been pretty proud that Harper is almost 5 and hasn't done it.
But over thanksgiving she found a pair of scissors and went into a bedroom and cut herself some bangs. She said "her hair was in her eyes."
THANK GOODNESS - she just cut long bangs and they can still be pulled back with a bow and you can barely tell.
But then Saturday we were getting ready to leave for the movies and Hollis' bangs were in her face and I did what I do often.......I grabbed some scissors and trimmed them. Now - I do this ALL THE TIME. Her bangs grow like weeds and I usually do a great job.
Not this day.
She was wiggling like an octopus so I tried to even them up and she wiggled more and before I knew it they were WAY too short and SUPER uneven.
Oops.
{And they are too short to pull back in a bow. I've tried}
It looks so pitiful and of course this is the month there are lots of pictures with Santa and Christmas activities. We will laugh one day, right?
Sort of how I laugh when I look back on this picture?
Egads.
I had a mullet.
I don't know about y'all but I am ALWAYS in some kind of hair dilemma. I clearly love to try different hair styles and colors. I feel like I am always changing. I have had a short bob most of my adult life but I grew it out and honestly - I LOVE long hair.
I always thought short hair was easier but I didn't realize the secret is that long hair is really VERY low maintenance. With short hair - I have to wash and style every day but with long hair - I can skip days or wash at night and just get up and put a few curls in. Or put up in a pony tail.
But Kelly Ripa and Jennifer Aniston have gone back to bobs and now I'm tempted. But I'm also turning 40 and I don't want to feel old with the mom bob and next thing I know I will be wearing mom jeans and SAS shoes and denim jumpers. (Not that there is anything wrong with that if you love it).
I'm SOOOOOOO tempted to cut bangs like this Jennifer hair style. I have an appointment tomorrow but I don't know if I'm brave enough. At least it's winter and the humidity is low.
Do y'all like to change your hair as much as I do? Which do you prefer (for yourself) - long or short hair? Bangs or no bangs?
My motto is ........ "it will always grow out".
After all, it's just hair.
Right?
