I love the 4th of July.
What is not to love? Summer, family, friends, good food, outdoors, and fireworks.
We had a really good fourth.
Love little girls in flag outfits. I can't help myself.
We are lucky to have Scott's parents here to celebrate with us.
We had a good day. We drove around and went to a few country boy stores like Cavender's and Cabela's. Then we ate Pizza Buffet.
My American dream
We seem to celebrate most non major holidays with Laurie and Steve and the girls. I love that. I also love these girls. They came over and we grilled hamburgers. It was a lot of fun. It gets more fun as the girls get older. They play so well together and we can spend time visiting.
How sweet is this?
They put on Cinderella dresses and were watching a movie together.
I think the most fun we had was my MIL had an otoscope and she had checked Harper's ear (she had complained of it hurting) and then Laurie and I checked everyone's ears. We had never used one before and it was SO interesting. :-)
They left and we bathed the girls and came outside to watch fireworks from our backyard. This was the first year that Harper really loved them. (Notice the gown, shoes and crown. She puts on that crown and some kind of "princess slipper" every single night with her pajamas. If she gets up in the middle of the night - she will put the crown and shoes on to come to our room in.)I think the most fun we had was my MIL had an otoscope and she had checked Harper's ear (she had complained of it hurting) and then Laurie and I checked everyone's ears. We had never used one before and it was SO interesting. :-)
Harper was running around yelling "I love it! I love it!" and telling us "Thank you Thank you Thank you!" It was so sweet. It's also very convenient to be able to take her hearing aids out. I think it not being too loud helped her enjoy them!
Hollis just had a short car nap today and she was exhausted. You know you are tired when you can fall asleep outside with loud fireworks booming. We have had the best weather - it was the coolest 4th I can ever remember.
The last few years of 4th celebrations!
