Easter 2013

Easter is one of my favorite holidays - maybe my VERY favorite.  Obviously - it's an amazing day - the center of my entire faith.  But it's also just a fun holiday and one we have the tradition of just spending alone as a family with our own traditions.  We love being in our own church on Easter.

My sweet family

It's been so cold but we lucked out with beautiful weather for Easter so I was able to break out a short sleeved dress.  So I had the GENIUS idea to do a little self tanner.  Yeah - it's not as easy at it looks.  I for sure wasn't raising my hands in church today.
And if you think my arm looks bad - you should see my legs and feet.
whoops.

For the last probably 7-8 years we always eat Easter lunch with friends.  Usually just Laurie and Steve but some times with a few other families.  I love this.  If we are just with Laurie and Steve - we almost always get KFC.  I love the traditional Easter lunch but I also kind of love this.  Today they came over and we lunched on some good old fried chicken from a bucket!

How sweet is that?

Later this afternoon - our brave (or crazy) friends Kacy and Mike hosted anyone who wanted to come from our Sunday School class for an Easter egg hunt and for an appetizer dinner.  I have no idea how many of us were there but it was a PACKED house.  Kids everywhere and tons of good food.
Hollis and one of her best friends Lela.

Harper was mostly thrilled with this toy sword she found.  We were at a boy house and she was in heaven with all the swords and spiderman stuff.
I'm the nerd who loves to do comparisons.  Here are the past 5 Easters.  We skipped 2011 because Hollis had just been born and we were sick.  I can't believe how much and how quickly Harper has grown.  And Hollis too.

I also realize that I wear black or purple every year.  Next year I'm going to try and get a new color.  (but I do like to change my hair color, ha!)
And look how much our girls have grown in the last 3 years.  I will blink and 3 more years will go by and they will all be in school.

I hope your Easter has been good!

Our God is not dead - He is ALIVE!
CELEBRATE!
