Monday I had a sick day. I'm not sure what happened but I was SO sick. Thankfully I recovered because yesterday and today have been full of things I didn't want to miss!
Yesterday our women's ministry had our annual Christmas lunch. I always enjoy this so much. We do it different every year. Sometimes we have typical girly food - chicken salad and fruit. Last year we had BBQ catered. This year we had chicken spaghetti and salad and bread. And it was maybe my favorite ever!
This is Laurie and Caroline's mom! Caroline's parents joined our church and Robin is so wonderful. She is even on our women's council now! She is such a joy to have!
We had everyone bring cookies (who wanted to) and did a cookie exchange and also ate them for dessert. It was really fun. It's always just a low key time that we get together and eat and visit and it's women of all ages - young moms to retired older women and everything in between. I was so busy I didn't take any pictures but a few with my phone.
My sweet friend and fellow church member Timesia spoke. Every time I think of Timesia - I just think "she loves Jesus". She loves Jesus more than anyone I know. And she has been through it the last few years. She has had a ton of surgeries from all kinds of different problems and last year was diagnosed with an extremely rare auto immune disease. She spent months in the hospital and was basically paralyzed. She can now walk and move and it's a miracle but the doctors still give her a very grim prognosis. She has been accepted to do an experimental procedure but insurance won't cover and she has to raise $30,000. This would save her life. I don't like to put fundraisers on my blog. But this is a special friend to me and I have to know that I did everything I could to try and help save her. I would love for you to look at her blog. I helped her set it up! She has led so many nurses and people to the Lord just in the last year while they have been helping her. I can't help but think if every single person who read this blog today just gave ONE DOLLAR - she could get her treatment next week. ONE DOLLAR!!! Please help me save the life of a friend I treasure. Just click the chip in button and give.
This could be the BEST Christmas present ever if we could all do this for her!!!
UPDATE: Y'all have raised almost $3000 today! I love you SOOOO much! I KNOW that there are thousands of you who can still give $1 and help make this happen for her. BLESS YOU ALL!!!
Last night I got together with all the girls in my Sunday School class for a girls night. My friend Maegan hosted and we had chili and bread and tons of desserts. And Maegan made the BEST hot chocolate bar! Oh it was so yummy and cute!
The Lord has blessed me with so many wonderful friends to share life with!
So thankful for friends who I can laugh with and pray with! Best Christmas present of all!
This morning Harper's preschool put on a Christmas program. The 3 yr olds were shepherds and the 4 yr olds did the Nativity. Harper was so funny! Do you see her waving?
My little shepherd girl!
Today is 12.12.12
I think this verse is fitting for today and every day:
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12
