There is a really neat book that came out this month that I thought you might be interested in - it's called "Wednesdays were pretty normal: a boy, cancer and God" and it's the story of the Kelley family and their experience when their 2 year old son Joshua was diagnosed with Leukemia. I think it will inspire you. This video below will tell you more about it. You can get it in bookstores or on Amazon or here. I encourage you to check this out.
