Super Bowl Sunday

We had our Sunday School class Super bowl party tonight. Here is the beauty of how we do our parties - we get sitters to keep our kids at the church and then we go to someone's house.  We all bring food and basically the girls sit in one room and talk and we NEVER glance at the TV and the guys watch the game.  Scott is very serious about his football and doesn't like to watch with a crowd so he stayed home. I go because I love being with my friends and eating.  We laughed and ate WAY too much and talked about childbirth. And laughed and ate some more. It was seriously one of my best nights! And when I picked up Harper from church she did not want to come home because she was having so much fun.  That is the definition of success!

I didn't take but two pictures and I'm sad about that. This was only half of the girls.  (Guess who had the big sonic drink?) I love these girls SOO SOOO SOOO much!
And I had to take a picture of my friend Rachel and how special she is. She brought her OWN milk to the party (in an empty peanut butter jar) because she loves milk and thinks it's rude to drink other people's milk. Isn't that funny? Oh she is one of my favorite people on earth. (She also told us she takes milk with her to go in the car if she is running errands. Isn't that funny - does anyone else do this????)

I barely know who was playing. I didn't watch the halftime show or any of the commercials. But I ate some delicious food. And these are the two things I brought. I thought I would share recipes because they were yum-o!

 Dried Beef Cheese Ball

This is my favorite cheese ball - it is SO yummy! (I took this pic off the internet because I forgot to take a picture of mine)

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 ounces dried beef
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons monosodium glutamate
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Combine and roll into a ball - put in refrigerator for a few hours before serving. Serve with crackers.
And if you know me - you know I love all things red velvet. And one of my best friends sent me a link to a Red Velvet Cheese ball.  I HAD to try it. I made a practice one last night and Scott and I tried it and then I made one for tonight. Oh my - it was good. I served it with vanilla wafers and graham crackers but I think the animal crackers we ate it with were the best!

(And this girl seems to love all things red velvet as much as I do)
