Harper is LOVING the Christmas tree! She loves to run in every night and look at every ornament and say "pretty". I didn't want to do much decorating this year but I'm so glad I decided to at least do a small tree!
I am SOOOO excited because tomorrow morning I am headed to Birmingham, AL to attend "Deeper Still". This is a conference with three of the most God annointed women speakers - Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur. I'm praying God will use them to do a revival in my heart. (I need one right now). And the best part is a big bunch of us Compassion Bloggers are meeting up and spending the weekend together. This is a group of AMAZING people that I am beyond blessed to know or meet. I'm probably the most excited I have been in a LONG time and I can't wait to share a little about the weekend with y'all!
I have to be honest and tell you one thing I am also excited about is Scott is keeping Harper for the full three days by himself. He is the BEST dad and adores her but he has never kept her by himself for more than maybe half a day. I think it will be great bonding time but I also think he will REALLY appreciate what I do all the time a lot more! :-) (I just secretly wish I needed him to go to Wal-Mart with a FULL list during that time)(or maybe take her to a busy doctor's office) ha!
I have to share a confession - I had a rough "mom" morning - I took Harper to Wal-Mart during a busy time and she managed to spill a whole thing of Goldfish in the middle of a busy area and as I got down on my hands and knees to clean it up - I started crying. Now I might be a little hormonal. And then I yelled at her and she cried. I took her off to an empty aisle to talk to her about it and apologize and we both cried but had the sweetest moment where we hugged and I just told her I loved her even when she did things that needed punishment. And then I cried some more. And then later an older lady who witnessed my"clean up on aisle 6" stopped me and simply said "I've been there before" and I started crying in the soup aisle. When I got out to my car - I was practically bawling. Don't we all have these days? (or maybe it's just me.) :-)
(and can I just add I'm praying God allows me to be the lady in the soup aisle more often. She doesn't know how a simple understanding smile made me feel so much better. Let me be that to others)
Okay - on another subject - who needs a new can opener or blender???? These are things I use daily and I wear mine out and have had to replace them often. WELL - some friends at Hamilton Beach have given me NINE of each (awesome can opener and a great blender) and I'm giving them away on my review blog. I will draw a winner next Thursday so you have plenty of time to sign up! Just visit here:

(and yes - when I'm having a bad day - I look at those ADORABLE shoes on those sweet chubby feet and I'm SO blessed to be the mom of a precious healthy girl. I never, never take for granted how God has blessed me. Even sometimes when I'm crying in the middle of Wal-Mart). ha!
