I really really don't want to write this post but since so many of you are asking me questions about weight watchers - I thought I would just write what I'm doing. I don't want to write it because I am NO EXPERT and I'm doing it probably a way people wouldn't recommend. ha! I LOVE food. I mean I don't think you understand - I think about food all the time. I just LOVE to eat and I love me some good southern food. But you can't have your cake and eat it too if you know what I mean.
I did weight watchers a few years ago and went to meetings. I think that is great but it really wasn't for me. BUT the main idea of how it works WAS for me. Basically you are allowed so many points a day based on your weight. Under 150 pounds - you are allowed 20 pts a day. If you work out - you get 1 or 2 more. You also get an additional 35 points a week to spread out or splurge on a meal.
A lot of you are asking me for recipes but to be honest - this go around I'm not cooking. I think when I do cook - I'm prone to eat more than I should or not calculate the points correctly so I'm going the foolproof way and eating frozen meals (healthy choice, weight watchers. lean cuisine). It is NOT ideal but it's working. I have tried just eating healthy - just chicken and vegetables and never lost a pound so I'm doing this. I'm not advising anyone - just telling you what I'm doing. (The Weight Watchers desserts ARE super yummy and so is skinny cow!)
This isn't so easy when you have a family. I still cook something for Scott every night. But it's working. I also LOVE this website : www.dwlz.com. It gives you almost every restaurant and what the points are on every food. It also gives you basic foods and name brand items and what the points are. You can sign up on the weight watchers website to track it online and get points if that is easier.
Like today - after Bible Study a lot of my friends went to Chick-fil-a (which I double heart love) and I wasn't going to pass up the chance to socialize but I got a grilled chicken sandwich and a cup of fruit and it was only 7.5 points which most of my frozen meals are that much. So it's do-able!
And Harper got to play with her friends on the Chick-fil-a playground for the first time!
So - I thought maybe if ya'll want to leave comments with links to good WW recipes or fun foods that are low in points - let us know! I found little individual servings of broccoli with cheese in the frozen section yesterday and they are 0 points - so I will have a side of broccoli with most meals now! :-) I'm also trying to work out. Which as much as I love to eat - I equally hate to exercise. It's a great combination. But I'm trying.
