Welcome back to SHOW US HOW YOU LIVE 2010!!!!
Today is New Years Resolutions/Goals! Maybe reading each others will give us ideas on things we can work on! Can't wait to read yours!
FIVE THINGS I WANT TO IMPROVE IN 2010:
1. I could be a lot better wife and mother (and Scott is saying "Amen!") I was a very rookie mom this year and I have to admit - I had a lot of hard days. It's a LOT harder than it looks. And there were days Scott came home and probably wish he hadn't of because I took it out on him. I just want to enjoy every moment with Harper this year and realized the days are long but the years are short. I want to focus on giving Scott more of my attention. He deserves it.
2. I want to be a better friend. I probably dropped the ball on a lot of my friends because I just felt up to my eyeballs most days this year. I want to do better at sending notes when I know friends need it. Or doing favors and not expecting one in return. I want to go back to having people over for dinner more often.
3. I want to be a better Christian. I want to spend more time with God. I neglected Him a lot this year. I loved and worshipped Him every day - but I didn't always spend time talking to Him or reading His word or trying to KNOW HIM more.
4. I want to be more healthy. Yes - I need to lose 20 pounds and I just can NOT put down the chick-fil-a and oreos. I want to exercise this year. I want to feel good about myself again.
5. I want to be a better daughter/DIL. Our families have done so much for us this year - I want to be better at doing for them and showing them I love them.

One thing I learned really early on in parenting is the kids can't be the center of attention. It will also make a child selfish and demanding for attention all the time. My poor hubby that first two years. It was tough on him. We trained our little ones to play independently for several minutes at a time so we could converse and talk and adore one another. It takes work, but oh so worth it.
2,3,and 4 are also part of my goals for this year! Good luck :)
I think your list is great! Very thoughtful and service-oriented!
We can do all through Christ who strengthens us!! :)
I cant find your email for ideas for "show us tour life. I rhink in July or so we should say how we are doing on completing our resolutions. Might be neat to see how we are all doing.
Great goals, Kelly! I've gotta say though, I've seen you in action with Harper and you are a fabulous mom. Give yourself some credit! :)
I love your resolutions- they are pretty similar to mine- trying to be the best at everything we want to be:)
P.S. I tried posting your button and it didn't work.
You are already so good at all of those things! But, if you can do it, so can I. Best of luck to you in 2010!
I know you have a big blog, and you probably get these all of the time, but even so, I wanted to give you a bloggy award. Please come check it out. You have such a beautiful, encouraging blog!
As I sit here and read this, I'm stuffing my face with Chick-fil-A. Yum!
Kelly ~ these are wonderful resoultions! I can do better at all of these things as well so I enjoyed reading about them. If you happen to read post, you will see that part of my new year's resoultion is to give back more. I believe that the Ronald McDonald house will be on our list to give to after I read your post. I've always loved what they have done and your message just re-emphasized that. Best of luck this year and I think it would be neat to see how we all did at the 1/2 way point or at the end of the year.
Today was my first day participating in Show Us Your Life!
I just wanted to let you know that I tried to use your Show Us Your Life button, but the code doesn't work. If you look at it, you'll see that there are 2 sets of quotation marks in some places. That causes it not to work. So I just took your picture and wrote my own code, linking to this post.
You're a wonderful gift to the blog world. Thanks for your honesty!! It's so refreshing!!
I love your new banner. What a cutie!
A happy one too.

Mommy to 7. 9 and under.
I'll be posting a link to one of my posts I did about a certain goal of mine, but Kelly, I have to say, your goals are inspiring!
This year, inspiration for 2010 came to me out of the blue in the form of one word: RESPECT.
Respect for others, and to work harder at self-respect. I find it easier to respect others than myself, believing that it is selfish to respect myself, and have realized that if I truly had self-respect that my life would look a lot more like I desire it to look.
Our family of 4 is going to have a year long project of "respect" and I'm quite certain we are going to end the year quite differently than we started. I've since found through the blogging world the "one word project" and other mentions of choosing one word for 2010.
Blessings to all of us as we pursue the journey we've chosen for ourselves in 2010.
Kelly...I would love for you to look at my New Year resolutions! They are very different from most, but I feel the good Lord instilled them in my heart. Now it is up to me to act upon His whisper! Congratulations on the first b-day for the little one!

Those sound like great resolutions Kelly, and I wish you the best in sticking with them. I feel the same way about SO many of them.
Please delete 389, I didn't wrong the first time but got it right the second, lol.
