Why is Harper so happy today?
I mean she has got the Joy, Joy, Joy down in her heart!
Because this weekend we finally broke out shoes!!! I know what you are thinking........just now? She is 8 months old! Well, at first we stayed in all the time and she was so little - shoes seemed uncomfortable so I just kept her in socks. And then she had the great habit of chewing her feet constantly so it was useless to put anything on her feet plus it was hot summer in Arkansas - so we just went barefoot. But since Fall is now officially here - I put her in shoes and she LOVED them. This morning I was worried we might get pulled over by the fashion police for wearing white shoes after labor day (does that rule apply to babies?)........so we headed to Target to get a few new shoes for fall.
Really - why are you just now telling me about shoes? What else are you holding out on?
We got these little black sweet shoes that have the cutest bow!
and I love these in the fall colors. They are a little big.....but will hopefully be good for a few months! We are growing so fast!
Now wait until I tell her about jewelry!
Um - remember how we got to meet David Crowder and how we love him dearly???? Remember how I listened to him pretty much on a constant basis all through the hard (and good) times of my life and sometimes when I hear "You are my Joy" I just want to jump up and down because seriously I could just burst because God IS my joy. David Crowder and his band have the greatest songs. Well - his newest CD "Church Music" comes out tomorrow and let me tell you - it is GREAT!!!! And I am just bouncing out of my seat because I have 10 copies to give away!!!!!! I'm reading the comments and realizing so many of you have never heard of David Crowder so I'm going to put a few videos on here so you can hear some of my favorites - (I will say that his new CD is good but different than his normal stuff - so you may want to go to itunes and download "illumination" or "remedy" or "collision (so good)" first if you don't have any of his music).

Would love to hear DCB's new CD! Enjoy reading your blog.
I listen to a local Christian music station every day so I've heard David Crowder Band songs, but don't own a CD. Not sure why...probably because I don't have the time or money right now. Though I've really been craving some new spirit filled music lately...I know the DCB new CD would be just that!
Love Love LOVE David Crowder band - too many good ones to pick just one! Love the little shoes - my children usually don't wear shoes until they start walking - we live in Alabama, so what's the purpose, especially in summer - even my oler children go barefoot most of the time! By the way - ROLL TIDE this weekend!

LOVE HARPER's shoes!!! Another fun things for baby girls! My faves are the last ones--and good for her (and you) that she likes to keep them on...hopefully that will last! My niece lives in OH (i.e., cold most of the year, so you need shoes and/or socks)--and she is nearly 2 and will hardly keep shoes on her feet for 2 minutes!!! :)
Ah I would love to win this CD. Ive been meaning to get into DCB a little more after hearing some tidbits at a festival this summer.

Wow! Kelly, lots of comments on DCB post. I am also a big fan but like you have a hard time picking out a favorite...depends on the mood I'm in I guess. My DCB story....I used to work at camp with his brother Steve (awesome guy who pastors in CO). We took a trip to Waco my Freshman year of college and heard him play some worship stuff there at church. This was before he was a "star". He wouldn't know me from Adam but his brother and I still keep in touch. In fact Steve posted about the new album on FB at midnight last night. I'm excited to hear it. Maybe I'll get it as a special surprise for my hubby (also a huge fan) to welcome him home from his mission trip to Romania when he returns next week.
Thanks for introducing so many to David Crowder! Hopefully God will speak to some new people through his music.

There are so many of his songs that I love, but my fav right now is Oh, How He loves Us (not sure if that's the name of the song). I love how the song reminds us of what Jesus did for us, and how we can't escape His unfailing love!

I love the DCB! I completely understand about the babies not wearing shoes too. I just started buying shoes for my little boy. He will be 1 on Friday. They have these great shoes at Target in the baby section. I am not sure what they are called. I can check and let you know. They are great for kiddos learning how to walk. I have read that it helps kids to learn to walk in their bare feet. These shoes are to help protect their feet and aren't as heavy. Honestly, the girls' are A LOT cuter than the boys. :)
I love his music for many different reasons and have found MANY of his songs have drawn me close to God in different situations. I love the way that every song is beautifully written lyrically and musically. I know that my husband would be so blessed to receive this as a surprise, as it has ministered to his heart too. Actually Kelly, I had never even heard of David Crowder Band until I started reading your blog(back when Harper was in the hospital) and thanks to you I have a new FAVORITE band! I love just about everything but I have to say I heard a new song he did on this album coming out tomorrow called HOW HE LOVES and oh my goodness the lyrics were just so deep I cried!! i would LOVE to have a copy of this CD!!!!!!

I actually heard David Crowder LIVE on KLUV this morning. I didn't really know he was but I'm sure I've heard some of his songs before. A friend of mine posted a video from YouTube on her blogwith "All That I Can Give". I listened to it at lunch today and it made me cry. It was very touching.

We saw DCB in concert as an opener for Third Day a few years ago. I enjoyed seeing the band perform and love listening to their music. Well there are just so many DCB songs that have touched me at different points in my life. Lately I have been listening to the newer one, "Never Let Go" as I pray about the loss of a dear family friend and what this means for my life as we all go on.

I LOVE David Crowder! My (current) favorites of his are "The Glory of It All" and "Never Let Go." Those are two that get put on repeat often. ;) Would love to win his Church Music CD, but if I don't, I will definitely be heading over to itunes to get it myself.
One of my favorites is from the Lime CD - Undignified. Always reminds me of King David dancing before the Lord and I pray that I will not be ashamed to display such joy in the Lord! Hope I win!!

Love Harper's new shoes! Target is the best isn't it? I seriously don't think the "white shoes rule" applies to babies. It may with girls more so than boys. I still put white walking shoes with knee socks on my baby boy. The white shoe rule did cross my mind though...funny!
I LOVE DCB!!! "Remedy" has helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. After my brother passed away almost four months ago that song would be running over and over in my head. I can't tell you how many times I would listen to it on a daily basis. Countless times for sure. They're music is powerful and SO annointed!

Well, in terms of the giveaway, my favorite David Crowder song by far is "You Are My Joy"!!!!! That's so funny that you mentioned it as your favorite and how you could just jump around when it comes on because I feel EXACTLY THE SAME. Kelly...I have been reading your blog since Harper was first born. I live in Ga and was actually sent an e-mail saying "pray for this baby" and have been reading AND praying ever since! I've loved David Crowder ever since I went to the church he plays at while I was in college. My fave album is Can You Hear Us? I think it was his first.. the others are great, but that one holds a special place in my heart!

well let me just say that I LOVE DCB as well and have been to 2 shows in the past year and am going again next month so hopefully we get to hear some of the new stuff. Lately, "no one like you" has really been the reminder I needed but "Intoxicating" came out the year we got married so that one is a fave as well.

Oh my goodness. I LOVE David Crowder. I have had the privelige of attending many youth conferences that he has played for, and it has always been amazing. My favorite songs are "O Praise Him" and "Stars". I also love the witty, punny t-shirts he frequently wears. :)

I have heard of The David Crowder Band, but not really sure if I have a favorite song of theirs. But, I do know that the only music I have any desire to listen to now is Christian music. My 20 y.o. son died on Father's Day as a result of a motorcycle accident, and that is the only thing I really find comfort in. We are fortunate to have several wonderful christian stations in our area. Matter of fact, we sponsored a full days broadcasting in honor of Josh on what would have been his 21st bday on July 27th. Would love to have another CD to listen to while I am working.

I am just a real small blog blogger, and I need a favor. Our pastor's grandson, Brian, 3 years old has just been diagnosed with hystiocytosis (sp?) which is not leukemia but sort of like it and is treated often with chemotherapy.
I told his aunt that people in this blog world are prayer warriors and would spread the word! If you could link to my blog or to hers (link is on my blog), I know so many more people would be praying.

I had never heard of him until he opened up for Mercy Me last summer. From that moment..we have fallen in love with him!! My favorite song is OH PRAISE HIM.. I would love his new music to jam to!!
Love the shoes and LOVE DCB!! My fave song is definitely "Come and Listen." For some reason it's always brought me to tears. I chose to have my bridal party walk to the aisle at my wedding to that song (played live...not by David, sadly, but by a really good band that was the next best thing!!)...it was the PERFECT song for that day!
