Why is Harper so happy today?
I mean she has got the Joy, Joy, Joy down in her heart!
Because this weekend we finally broke out shoes!!! I know what you are thinking........just now? She is 8 months old! Well, at first we stayed in all the time and she was so little - shoes seemed uncomfortable so I just kept her in socks. And then she had the great habit of chewing her feet constantly so it was useless to put anything on her feet plus it was hot summer in Arkansas - so we just went barefoot. But since Fall is now officially here - I put her in shoes and she LOVED them. This morning I was worried we might get pulled over by the fashion police for wearing white shoes after labor day (does that rule apply to babies?)........so we headed to Target to get a few new shoes for fall.
Really - why are you just now telling me about shoes? What else are you holding out on?
We got these little black sweet shoes that have the cutest bow!
and I love these in the fall colors. They are a little big.....but will hopefully be good for a few months! We are growing so fast!
Now wait until I tell her about jewelry!
Um - remember how we got to meet David Crowder and how we love him dearly???? Remember how I listened to him pretty much on a constant basis all through the hard (and good) times of my life and sometimes when I hear "You are my Joy" I just want to jump up and down because seriously I could just burst because God IS my joy. David Crowder and his band have the greatest songs. Well - his newest CD "Church Music" comes out tomorrow and let me tell you - it is GREAT!!!! And I am just bouncing out of my seat because I have 10 copies to give away!!!!!! So leave me a comment - tell me your favorite DCB song or if you have never heard of him - let me know that - I'd love for someone who doesn't listen to Christian music or has never heard of David Crowder to win this! I'm reading the comments and realizing so many of you have never heard of David Crowder so I'm going to put a few videos on here so you can hear some of my favorites - (I will say that his new CD is good but different than his normal stuff - so you may want to go to itunes and download "illumination" or "remedy" or "collision (so good)" first if you don't have any of his music).

I have never listened to David Crowders music.
Start Harper early on shoes. I love to buy shoes....I buy for me, I buy for my son....he has 3 pairs of tennis shoes right now! I did go over board when we first got him and bought a bunch on sale and then he grew! I was so disappointed that he only got to wear the saddle oxfords once :(

I havent heard of David but I love good music.
One more thing Kelly....I made this mistake with my first until I went to the Stride Rite store and had her fitted. Buy the shoes as big as you can keep her feet in them. When she starts standing and then wanting to walk it is her ability to spread her toes and balance that will help her and if her shoes are not big enough to allow that it will hinder and frustrate her. They told me that is why the traditional walking shoes have the ankle support...not really to support the ankle but more to keep the foot in the shoe because you want them big enough and they would fall off otherwise. Also accounts for the big rounded toe on the walking shoes. I still remember I took my first in and had her fitted and they told me she wore a 6..I almost cried I had been stuffing her foot in a 4 thinking they needed to "fit" in order for her to be able to walk. I don't know if everything they told me is 100% accurate, although that is thier business, but let me tell you when she go the right shoes at 10 and a half months she almost immediatley began walking much better. The Robeez are also great because they allow the toe to spread out. I always loved Robeez because they don't come off when crawling, etc. I hated Target shoes because we were constantly losing them.

My all-time favorite song from DCB is "All I Can Say." I first heard this song when I was a camp counselor at SpringHill Indiana in 2002 and it really spoke to my heart. Sometimes when I don't know what to pray, I use this song as my prayer.

My husband and I both love David Crowder! Funny thing - I used to have to make him listen to Christian music, and now it's all he listens to! I am terrible at remembering who sings what, but he'll remember when I say I like a song, and burn me a cd. I love hopping in the car to go to work and finding a sticky note that says "turn on your cd player" :) We also have a 9 month old daughter who is such a fussy car rider, but when I turn on Mercy Me or David Crowder, I don't hear a peep out of her - she clearly has good musical taste :) Harper is adorable and her and Meredith have lots of matching outfits, but Meredith could never be caught wearing Hogs - she's a Sooner girl born and bred! Ha! :)

I am in major need of inspiration music right now. I just returned to work (as a teacher) back in August after having my little Matthew and now I don't see how I am going to make it through the school year without seeing my little man all day. We just had to reduce the number of nursing a day because my milk is drying up and he is not tolarating formula very well. Although I have never heard of David Crowder before reading your blog I would love to be entered into the contest for a free CD!!!

I LOVE David Crowder Band. I went to Baylor and went to his church there so I was so blessed to see him live many many times in worship! Definitely one (of the few) things I really miss about good 'ol Wacko, Texas!

MY favorite song that he does is "How He Loves" - actually a good friend of my brother and his wife, John Mark McMillian, actually wrote that song! So I love it even more for that reason! If you go on You Tube John Mark actually explains the reasoning on why he wrote it. IT is amazing!

I was first introduced to the DCB last summer, at my friend's funeral. He was a huge DCB fan, and died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 31 (he left a wife and 2 kids behind).
At the funeral, they played a bunch of songs, including Wholly Yours, You are my Joy, and my favorite, All I Can Say. Whenever I hear those songs now, I think of him. Thanks for the chance to win the new cd.
I am a huge DCB fan, my brother in law actually is on a church committee with him (my husbands side of the family is all from Waco!) I have a similar picture with my son and husband with Crowder too! Just thought I would share!!

I love Harper's shoes. I have two daughters, a 3 year old and a 4 month old. I have the brown shoes in just about every size because I have bought them every fall for my oldest daughter! Hopefully my youngest will also get to enjoy them.
I went to Baylor University and went to the very first church service of UBC where David Crowder was the UBC Praise Band... I have 2 copies of their first original church CD!!! "When Heaven Came Down" is my favorite song ever.

We love DCB almost as much as we LOVE Harper's new shoes.
LOVE the fall color's shoes! I may have to get my 13 month old a pair of those:) She has yet to wear "real" shoes either -- she wears Robeez (and the Target knock-off version:), and Isabooties. I put a real pair of tennis shoes on her when she was 10 months old and had been walking for a month...she squatted down like she couldn't even stand up straight in them!:)
One of these days we'll try real shoes again:)

I went to the CD release concert tonight and it was awesome!! My children LOVE DCB- My 3 year old's favorite is "Everything Glorious" and my 22 month old sings along to "How He Loves Us". That's wonderful that you get to give some CD's away!

Kelly! I love, love, love Christian music. It's all I listen to pretty much! It gets me through the rough days and it changes my attitude when I need some help. My son Judah just turned 8 months and my husband is often at work in the evening so, Judah and I listen to praise music on Pandora.
I haven't heard David Crowder too much but, from the videos you posted, I know I would really get blessed from it. I hope I win one of those CDs! Judah and I would really like to listen to it together!

Well, I have no idea what my favorite DCB song is. All I know is that I hear songs on the radio or sing 'em at church and say to the hubs, "I looooovvvve this song" and it often turns out to be DCB!
I have actually just heard of David Crowder from your blog and Angie Smith's and I've come to LOVE him! I would be absolutely delighted to win one of the new cd's!!
Also, my little girl Alyson has the same white sandals from Target - the style is called Dabney and I just love them! I bought her size 7 and then even ordered her a size 8 for Fall (she's 2 1/2) because I liked them so much!

I didn't think I have heard of him (thinking I was such a heathen....) but then I listend to a few songs, and realized I did know who he was (sang one of his songs for worship yesturday). (phew, I was worried for a minute about the heathen thing....)
I love "How He Loves Us" so much! We used the song in a video for our Youth Group a few weeks ago and the HS students fell in love with it! A few of them immediately learned the music and by the following week we were singing it as the opening song for worship! The DCB is awesome!
