Why is Harper so happy today?
I mean she has got the Joy, Joy, Joy down in her heart!
Because this weekend we finally broke out shoes!!! I know what you are thinking........just now? She is 8 months old! Well, at first we stayed in all the time and she was so little - shoes seemed uncomfortable so I just kept her in socks. And then she had the great habit of chewing her feet constantly so it was useless to put anything on her feet plus it was hot summer in Arkansas - so we just went barefoot. But since Fall is now officially here - I put her in shoes and she LOVED them. This morning I was worried we might get pulled over by the fashion police for wearing white shoes after labor day (does that rule apply to babies?)........so we headed to Target to get a few new shoes for fall.
Really - why are you just now telling me about shoes? What else are you holding out on?
We got these little black sweet shoes that have the cutest bow!
and I love these in the fall colors. They are a little big.....but will hopefully be good for a few months! We are growing so fast!
Now wait until I tell her about jewelry!
Um - remember how we got to meet David Crowder and how we love him dearly???? Remember how I listened to him pretty much on a constant basis all through the hard (and good) times of my life and sometimes when I hear "You are my Joy" I just want to jump up and down because seriously I could just burst because God IS my joy. David Crowder and his band have the greatest songs. Well - his newest CD "Church Music" comes out tomorrow and let me tell you - it is GREAT!!!! And I am just bouncing out of my seat because I have 10 copies to give away!!!!!! What precious shoes! They sure have come a long way since my daughter was born. I usually listen to country music, but would love to listen to DCB. I sometimes feel like I should be listening to Christian music more than I do (which is occasionally in the car or at church).
"You are my Joy" is probably my husband's favorite as well. He gave his life to Jesus the month before we started dating 2.5 years ago, and ever since then has been just exhilarated by worship music! the DCB is one group that gets featured a lot on the mix CDs he makes me from our iTunes!

I would love to win this CD. I've never listened to DCB and I'm very curious about him. In fact, I think I'll go google him now! I do know one thing, Carly would love it too. She loves anything regarding music. We always have music on. Mostly kids tunes :o) This would be a welcomed change in our home.
My favorite song is "All I can say". I finally found it on itunes the other day. I downloaded it and had it playing on the computer when my three teenagers came home from school. My 15 year old asked me who was singing the song because she really liked it. Wow. A teenager getting into other music besides Taylor Swift. LOL.

I guess the surgery wasn't something that would keep her from wearing shoes. I am so glad she did so well and is all better now! I prayed for her that morning. We were in New Mexico on vacation but my husband and I remembered to pray about the surgery.

oooo, i LOVE me some DCB! my fave song is actually a toss up between "Stars" and "Only You." oldies, but goodies! i remember hearing Stars for the first time while standing on a mountain in ecuador (i was working camp and our worship leader played it) and looking up at the millions of stars that i could see. still gives me goose bumps. i can't wait to hear his new cd!

I love DCB! My favorite is All Creatures. We had a friend play and sing it at our wedding. My 95 great aunt loved it so much she asked me to buy her the cd. Too precious! Can't wait for the new cd!

Well I am sure this will shock you but when I went to Baylor David had just started singing at a brand new church there that i went to. After I left college I was not really into Christian music and did not realize until the last year or so that David had gone on to be the great artist that he is.

What an awesome gift to give away!! I first heard a David Crowder band song this past year. It's called "All I can say." I have to be honest that that is the one I know. But I really enjoy listening to that song when I hear it.

I LOVE David Crowder. ALL of their songs are wonderful! They are just those turn up the radio and sing kind of songs!!! One of my favs is Everything Glorious!
First off I love Harper's new shoes (and yes I was about to have to tell you to get that child some new shoes when I saw the white sandals cause the fashion police will arrest a baby!). That is the thing I miss most about not having a girl...introducing shoes, purses and jewelry!
I don't know if I still make it in the drawing for the DCB CD--we live 12 hours ahead of EST and so I get all mixed up, especially in the blog world where your tomorrow could be my today. Anyway, I would love to win the CD. I think my favorite song is his version of I Saw the Light. There is no joy like seeing your baby learn to clap and get so happy when that song comes on cause he can join in! I have so many memories of my two oldest (now 4 and almost 3) in the back seat of our car just clapping and squealing along with David! Now that we are overseas there are so many days where all it takes is some good music to get over the funk of being away from family and friends--DCB is one of the best for that! Plus winning would give me some major cool points with my husband (and three boys)!

Ok, I live in Nashville and I've never heard of DCB until you. Thank you for putting these links on your blog. I love it. I LOOOOVE those black shoes! I bought Hadley the same pair last year & was SO upset when she outgrew them. I wished I had bought them in the next size. They are ADORABLE!!! Love Target's shoes!! Check out Pediped too. They're more expensive but great quality!!! They have a brown polka dot pair that are just precious!

I haven't listened to Dave Crowder Band for so long!! I first was introdcued to them during summer camp CIY in TN and they were the Christan Band of the week! I had kinda forgot about them..uh-oh.. I really would love their new cd to get back to listening to them!!!!

My favorite "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" from the University Baptist Church worship CD. This was one of DC's first I think. I was at Baylor before he made it "big time" and led worship locally. Love him!

I love David Crowder. I have to admit I'm terrible about praising the Lord and listening to our local Christian radio and never realizing who I'm listening to. I went to Haiti this past June for a medical missions trip. About 3 days into the trip I got sick for the first time in 6 years. Fever, sweats, flu-like stomach issues, achy body, and I was crying for 24 hours straight because I felt like I was letting God and my team down. My trip leader brought speakers into my room and had DCB's last cd on repeat. Oh buddy, did God speak through each and every song as if to say, "I needed you to be still and listen for Me more than I needed you with your team. Trust Me. Find peace in Me". After recovering from my sickness I brought a completely different attitude to the whole missions trip and I thank God for DCB's willingness to sing Jesus into the hearts of many. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE their newest cd!! Your giveaways are always so sweet! P.S. Harper is so precious!! :D
