First of all - I was SO happy today because Harper had a great day in the nursery!! You have no idea how hard I have prayed today and it was so nice to go check on her twice and neither time was she crying or screaming. I'm so thankful for her sweet nursery workers who love on her! My parents were here today and got to go to church with us and see her in the nursery! And we went to lunch and she was so happy and did so good. OH it was just a great day!

My dad got home from India last night and we were so glad to have him home safe and sound. Tomorrow is his birthday and today is Grandparents day so we were glad to spend time with them! Harper is so blessed to have four wonderful grandparents in her life!
We were playing with her in her room and she started pulling up on me!!! She is just changing and growing so quickly these days!

I told ya'll yesterday about my "faith" dress and then I found out something SO amazing about it and I just have to share because I want to show you how God is at work even when you don't know it and feel like your prayers are not being answered.
But first I feel like I should share that YES - I love having a girl but I used to DREAM of having three boys. I would have been over the moon if we had had a boy. I don't want anyone to think I would have been unhappy with a boy. I dreamed of a boy playing football and I still secretly wish for a boy if we have another child. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy. It's just that I just always had this feeling I would have a daughter. I can't explain it but I just knew.
Anyway..........I think this is unbelievable. When I shared the story of the dress yesterday - the lady who I bought it from off of etsy left me a comment and then she e-mailed me to share something with me and it just gave me chills and made me cry. She has been reading my blog since Harper was born but had no idea she had one time made a dress for her until she saw it yesterday. And she remembered it because when she made it - she felt like God asked her to pray over the dress and to pray for the little girl who would be wearing it. She had no idea that at the the time there WAS no little girl yet or that the little girl would really need prayers at one point. See how God goes ahead and works in such amazing ways???

HE LOVES US - OH HOW HE LOVES US!

And finally - look who is starting to crawl!!!! When did she get so big???

So this is my 1000th post!!! WOW - that is a whole lot of rambling from me. So in honor of my 1000th post - I was wondering if you read my blog - I would love to hear from ALL of you - even the lurkers who have never commented - and I would love to hear one thing you are thankful for today! It would be great to start off this week with a LONG list of uplifting praises and I would love to hear from EVERYONE who is reading!!! Ya'll hear from me every day - now I'd like to hear from you!!!!

Hi Kelly,
I have been reading your blog for a long time....but don't have a blog and am not sure how to create an account to make an "identity." (I know, I know, real computer savvy, I am!!) I have left my name before as MOMMY2VIN.
I am thankful for a healthy and active 26 month old little boy and a baby that is due in February! God has blessed my husband and me and we are so thankful for his provisions! You are a blessing too and I love rejoicing with you each day!

I have been reading your blog ever since Harper was born! My sister had been reading your blog & told me about your infertility journey. My husband and I have been walking through our journey for 8 yrs. now, so I definitely wanted to read about your miracle! :) So, I say all of that because I am thankful for my infertility. Yes, I know that might sound weird, but without it I would never have met some of the most amazing, strong, and faithful women of this world. I probably wouldn't have found your blog. I wouldn't have the relationship I have today with God. :)

I have long been a lurker, but have been so touched by your journey. I've been following since Harper's birth and came over after reading Angie Smith's blog. I am very thankful for the blessings that God has brought to me and for the lesson that He has taught me...all things work out in His time. I'm also thankful for my two babies and loving husband. Thanks for continuing to share your life adventure with us all!

I've been reading your blog since right after you announced your pregnancy and I just love reading it. There are so many things in my life to be thankful for, but right now what comes to mind first is my husband of 14 years and my 3 babies that I was told I would never have (they are 8, will be 7 on Wed. and 3 1/2). And that's only the tip of what I'm thankful for. God has been so good to me!!!!

I read your blog daily, and I believe I have commented only once. I enjoy your stories about your precious daughter. I am also blessed, as you are, with a healthy baby girl. After reading so many stories through blogs and prayer requests, I know that something I take for granted so often, is really such a gift and blessing.

I am thankful for my grown kids and the lives they are leading to Glorify God.... Scott's mom is my cousin and I have been reading your post and praying for your family since Harper was born. I love watching your family grow and witness to world that so much needs what you are giving. Thanks for just being yourself and following God's leading in your life.

A little late, but better now than never! I keep up with you and Harper and have been since my friend, Julia, told me about Harper's hospitalization in January. My daughter, Reece, (okay, she was only 10 months old at the time so it wasn't really her) sent Harper a get-well bow when we first read your story! Anyways, I like reading your colorful updates and watching baby girl grow!

Hi Kelly,

I found your blog in a convoluted way (Evan's mom is a reader of my cousin's blog and I started reading about his rough start and found your blog). Anyway, I'm a mom to a little miracle girl (a preemie who did not even spend a day in the nursery!) who I am so thankful for everyday. As a first time mom myself, I enjoy reading about your adventures with Harper. Thanks for sharing.

ok let's see if I can get through this without crying.... My story is similar to yours. My husband and I had been ttc for over three years. We started right away because my mother in law had a number of serious health issues and we didn't know how long we'd have her. Sadly she passed away last year at 56. She wanted more than anything to be a grandma.

We have PCOS so conceiving isn't easy. We tried adoption but that failed 9 months into it. We were devastated.

Then we started going to a new church where we met the famous Miss Margaret. She's a now 93 year old lady who is head of our bus ministry at church. Nobody had told her of our issues in trying to start a family and she stopped me one day and told me that she was praying for Dan and I to have a baby girl (we'll be thrilled with either gender!!!!). How thrilled I was to inform her that she can stop praying for the Lord to bless us with a baby because we're now due on April 24th (saw our peanut's heartbeating this morning!!) which also happens to be my birthday.

What a blessing your blog has been to me. I've gotten to know alot of ladies who also read your blog including Veronica (what a blessing she's been!) Back in May when we were still struggling (with what I thought was no end in sight!) I won the most beautiful hat. We've emailed back and forth and she has the sweetest daughters. Her oldest Alyssa prayed for Dan and I to have a baby. It was so cute... Veronica told her (age appropriate) about our struggles and asked Alyssa if she would pray for us. She replied yes mom but can I finish my apple first? (I printed that out and I am going to include it in my baby book). Not long after she asked Alyssa if she'd pray for us again and her prayer was simple: ...Jesus, please help mommy's friend have a baby. In Jesus' name, Amen.

On August 20th I tested and I got a result I've never seen before POSITIVE.

Sorry this has been so long. I am so thankful for your blog, I've enjoyed the daily photos of Harper and it's been such an honor and priviledge seeing her grow up! Keep up the good work!

Hugs

I am a lurker. I first learned of your blog when my neighbor (Sharon Scogin) made a post about praying for Harper. We did pray so much for Harper, everyday and even had our sunday school class pray for her. It was kinda funny trying to explain how we "knew" Harper. I love reading your blog and my 2 yr old, Dace, loves looking at Harper while I'm reading. Maybe they will meet in real life someday. I'm not sure when you were at OBU but my sister in law went there, probably around 89-93 ish. Her name was Martha Garner.

Thanks for blogging. You are such a witness!

Hello,

I am another Kelly in Northwest Arkansas. The thing I am so thankful for at the moment (besides my 3 beautiful girls and my husband, and an overall great life) is that my Daddy is still with me and will be a part of my girl's life. My Daddy had a heartattack on the 20th of July. He is an electrical lineman in Oklahoma. He managed to climb down the pole, walk across a field (he was in the middle of nowhere), and drive 10+ miles home. He had 100 percent blockage in the left and 95 percent in the right side. What he had is called a widowmaker because it is usually a death sentence. They did the stint procedure on the left, but are waiting till his numbers are up and he is a bit stronger to do the other. You never realize you are
"grown up" till you come so close to losing a parent and when you see them , you see your grandparents. My mom is under a lot of stress and having health issuesnow and Dad still is having issues and the upcoming procedure--along with procedures for skin cancer, so could you please add them to your prayer requests. So what am I thankful for....the fact that when the sun rises and the sun sets, I still have my family and with them and God we can continue to walk down the road of life together.

Blessings,
Kelly Jo

Hi Kelly. I must admit, I don't read your blog every day... but I do come often to catch up on what y'all are up to :)

I am thankful for so many things. My husband and I are both unemployed, with no health insurance so one wouldn't think we have MUCH to be thankful for. I guess, I shouldn't say we are unemployed... we both work part time but neither job is permanent.

I think the thing I am most thankful for today is that a child from my town who was abducted has been found safe! I know his family and had two of his brothers in my class when I was teaching preschool. When I heard that he had been found (over 24 hours after he was missing) I just cried.

I am thankful for my son... after being told we couldn't get pg we were surprised to learn he was on the way. He's 9 now and the joy of my life!

I am thankful for my family and good friends who have supported me through the loss of my father and then 2 months later the loss of my daughter (ectopic pregnancy).

Like I said... I have SO MUCH to be thankful for, it's hard to list just ONE.

I hope that you have a wonderful week (and that it doesn't take you ALL week to read all these comments :) )

Blessings
Jo

The thing that I'm most thankful for right now is the fact that i've been unemployed which meant that i could take the trip from michigan to pennsylvania in july to care for my terminally ill grandma. she passed away on august 14th, so has just been a month. i'm so thankful that i was able to have that time with her...she was mentally there until her last day, so we had lots of opportunities to talk, and to hear about some of her life experiences. that trip was probably the most important thing that i've ever done. it strengthened my faith in the Lord because of the strong faith that my grandma had the whole time she was fighting the cancer. she never got mad or angry, instead she just gave it to God and knew that He would take care of her. i wish i could have faith like that....

I don't have a blog, so I find it hard to comment on other people's blog... that's why I don't do it often.
I'm thankful for my two beautiful daughters and my great husband!
Love your blog Kelly... you always keep it real.

I am thankful every day for my my two beautiful girls and wonderful husband! I started reading your blog after Harper was born and she was so sick. I think I came across your blog by reading a prayer request on a friends blog. I remember every day I would log on to check on Harper and say a little prayer for her! You are such an inspiration! Keep up the good work and I look forward to the reading the next 1000 posts!!

I follow your blog and comment every now and then! I am so happy that Harper had a good day at nursery! My little one is two and loves going to church and is fine once I take her to nursery but isn't usually jumping for joy to have to stay in the nursery at first. This Sunday was the first time she said "I want to go to church and go to the nursery" instead of " I want to go to church and watch my daddy sing with you" (my husband is the worship leader). So I am giving a big shout of joy and thankfulness for that!! I am also so thankful for a husband that is such a Godly man and great example to my two little girls and that they know that daddy gives his all every Sunday to lead the church in praising the Lord!

I am thankful for my husband and daugther, but I am EXTREMELY thankful and feel so blessed to have my son in our lives! Like you, there was a time right after he was born that we weren't sure if he would be with us or not. Thanks to God, the power of prayer, and friends and family...Grant is now a happy and healthy 2 yr old!

I have read your blog for a long time. Way before you were pregnant with Harper. I prayed for you then and prayed for you when Harper was born. We live in NWA and it is fun to know of the places you mention. I have three boys and my youngest is a few weeks younger than Harper. We know of lot of the same people. It amazes me how "blogworld" makes the world seem so much smaller. I hope you have a great week and maybe one day we will run into each other in NWA.

I am thankful for my sweet baby boy. He came very close to not making it when he was born. At 38 1/2 weeks I noticed one evening I had not felt him move in a while. So I drank some soda and went to lie down on my side (as I had been told by a nurse). Well then I fell asleep. I woke up two hours later to go to the bathroom and started bleeding. I had a placental abruption and he was born just an hour later via c-section. Half an hour more and he probably wouldn't have made it. Thank God I woke up!

Kelly,
I've been reading your blog since January. I wanted to come up with a creative and different thing to be thankful for...but I can't do it:-)
I'm just so thankful that God blessed me with the huge gift of motherhood and with my precious son Barclay. I never struggled with infertility, but I struggled with believing that God was going to bless me.
Thanks for your blog,

I am now 28 and looking back I'm am ever so grateful that God let me have my first baby at just over 16! I was beginning to take a very wrong turn in life, and my son was what got me back on track!!! I didn't allow others to raise him, I did my best at raising him. Then at just over 17 I started to take the wrong path again, and God put a man in my life that I fell completely in love with and we married just 4 months later. Now, ten years down the road he has loved my son like his own, and we have 3 children together!! I look at them and know I was way to young to have a baby and then get married, but if it would not have been for both of them that young in my life, I would be living such a hard life right now!! What I am most thankful for is that God loved me enough to forgive me for all I have done in my past!!

Kelly, I just pray that you can be a light to the teenage girls you spoke with. I have walked that road, it can be so scary and lonely at times! I know women who have trouble getting pregnant probably judge them, but remember we don't know what there lives have been like or what God could be doing in there lives through that child!! I hope and pray some day that the Lord opens the door for me to talk/help teenage girls with what I went through! They need encourgement, they need to know that it will be okay and it's possible for them to be a good mom!!

Thank you for your blog and being an encouragement to so many!!

Oh my goodness....I have never seen so many comments before!

I meant to leave a comment the other day, but better late than never!!

I am Allison from San Antonio. I love checking in on you and your sweet family from time to time. What a great witness of God's faithfulness to his children you are to me.

My Hudson and Harper know about your Harper from when she was in the hospital. I show them her pictures and tell them the story about how she was sick but how God healed her.

I am very thankful for your family and the light you are to so many!

I am also THANKFUL and EXCITED about our first family vacation (with just the 4 of us) to Disneyland next week! We can't wait!

I have been following your story since Harper was born. She brings such a smile to my face everyday! My husband and I struggled with fertility for 3 years and were blessed to stumble upon a study that was paying participants with a round of IVF. We went through the study for one cycle of IVF and after trying for so long, God blessed us with a set of very healthy twins..boy and girl! I am thankful everyday that I have an amazing husband and 2 healthy amazing 6 month old babies! God is good!!!!

Have been reading your blog since Harper was born. Appreciate your blog and it's focus. I am thankful for my three beautiful kids - our first daughter was via IVF. Which apparently fixed everything - no problem getting pregnant again!! Our second daughter has Down syndrome and is just doing great and the third (and last!) is our son. They are all great kids and you certainly remind me to be thankful for them and enjoy them as much as possible!!

Thanks!

Kelly, I came across your blog when Harper was in the hospital. One of my friends had a "Praying for Harper" button on her blog and I am a sucker for a baby blog. I love reading about what Harper is doing and I find your posts very inspirational. I'm not a lurker, but I don't comment all that often. I'm so late on this, but I saw this post today and I'm so thankful for my friends. I had 10 ladies over to my house last night to watch Dirty Dancing (RIP Patrick Swayze) and even though it was a late night we were all up early this morning to help a friend move. There were 9 cars and it only took 2 hours to completely move her out and into her new place. I just loved seeing all my friends come together and work as a team to help each other out...I am incredibly blessed.
Oh, and I saw you later post about going to OBU and I didn't go there, but I did go to a small private Christian college and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I adored my 4 years there! :)

Harper's healing was a source of encouragement to me and my family. I read in one of your posts that you regret that you are not able serve as you did prior to being a new mom. Well, you serve everyday with every uplifting word, praise, prayer request you blog about. I pray God will continue to bless your family.
