First of all - I was SO happy today because Harper had a great day in the nursery!! You have no idea how hard I have prayed today and it was so nice to go check on her twice and neither time was she crying or screaming. I'm so thankful for her sweet nursery workers who love on her! My parents were here today and got to go to church with us and see her in the nursery! And we went to lunch and she was so happy and did so good. OH it was just a great day!

My dad got home from India last night and we were so glad to have him home safe and sound. Tomorrow is his birthday and today is Grandparents day so we were glad to spend time with them! Harper is so blessed to have four wonderful grandparents in her life!
We were playing with her in her room and she started pulling up on me!!! She is just changing and growing so quickly these days!

I told ya'll yesterday about my "faith" dress and then I found out something SO amazing about it and I just have to share because I want to show you how God is at work even when you don't know it and feel like your prayers are not being answered.
But first I feel like I should share that YES - I love having a girl but I used to DREAM of having three boys. I would have been over the moon if we had had a boy. I don't want anyone to think I would have been unhappy with a boy. I dreamed of a boy playing football and I still secretly wish for a boy if we have another child. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy. It's just that I just always had this feeling I would have a daughter. I can't explain it but I just knew.
Anyway..........I think this is unbelievable. When I shared the story of the dress yesterday - the lady who I bought it from off of etsy left me a comment and then she e-mailed me to share something with me and it just gave me chills and made me cry. She has been reading my blog since Harper was born but had no idea she had one time made a dress for her until she saw it yesterday. And she remembered it because when she made it - she felt like God asked her to pray over the dress and to pray for the little girl who would be wearing it. She had no idea that at the the time there WAS no little girl yet or that the little girl would really need prayers at one point. See how God goes ahead and works in such amazing ways???

HE LOVES US - OH HOW HE LOVES US!

And finally - look who is starting to crawl!!!! When did she get so big???

So this is my 1000th post!!! WOW - that is a whole lot of rambling from me. So in honor of my 1000th post - I was wondering if you read my blog - I would love to hear from ALL of you - even the lurkers who have never commented - and I would love to hear one thing you are thankful for today! It would be great to start off this week with a LONG list of uplifting praises and I would love to hear from EVERYONE who is reading!!! Ya'll hear from me every day - now I'd like to hear from you!!!!

I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your blog (I think it was right after Harper was born) but I have followed your blog ever since.
My husband and I dealt with infertility for several years and then when we were done with everything required for an adoption and just waiting to be chosen by a birth family, God chose that time to bless us with a successful pregnancy. We had Katrina Suzanne in February of 2006. Then we lost three babies to miscarriage and didn't think we could bear the possibility of another loss when God led us to a perinatologist who discovered a clotting disorder and helped us carry Samuel Jose (pronounced Sahm-well Ho-say) to term in January of this year.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude everyday as I think about the ambitions, hopes and fears I had for my life and realize God has been at work for my good and His glory from the very beginning. I know you feel the same way, Kelly.

I'm thankful for the many way God intervenes in our lives to take care of us! I could go on and on about this but one example comes to mind from this past weekend. We planned to have Dillan's adoption celebration party on Saturday but the people doing pony rides couldn't come that night so we changed it to Friday. The weather was BEAUTIFUL on Friday...not so much on Saturday...OH, HOW HE LOVES US!!!

P.S. And what am I thankful for? That our Jesus is ALWAYS on our side! :o) No matter what He wants our happiness and He wants us to love Him. Simply amazing. He gave me a fantastic husband and daughters and meets all of my needs. I can't even believe that I tried to live without Him before (I've been saved since late teen-hood). Praise God!

Kelly, I have been reading since just before Harper was born. I love your encouraging, real and sincere way of writing. We are an Air Force family and once called Little Rock, AR home. Our 11 year old daughter was born there and our 13 year old was born in Germany. Little Rock was one of our most favorite places-amazing people! We just made move #8 in our 17 years of marriage. I am thankful that it looks like we have found the church where God wants us while we are here in Virginia.

I have a happy story- someone very dear to me has been trying for a few months to have another baby (she already has a 7 and an almost 9 year old) and was worried that because she was in her mid thirties and also has a history of infertility and miscarriage that it wouldn't happen but today I got the news that she is (only just) pregnant! And I am so happy for her and grateful to God because I have been praying for months that it would happen for her! And today I was just like "I knew you could do it, God!" (As if I ever should have doubted!)

I'm Vonda from Maryland and have been following your blog since Harper was born. I am thankful for my 4 wonderful children. I spent 5 years with infertility and conceived my twins through in vitro. They will be 16 in December. Then went on to have 2 more children ON OUR OWN with no fertility treatments. My sweet twins are Peyton and Sophie, then I have Noah who is 10, and born with a little something extra (He has Down syndrome and is the love of my life), and then my sweet Halle who is 8 and is the icing on our cake!!! God does answer our prayers and I would have never asked for a child with Down syndrome, but God knew I needed one. Noah has changed my life, my husband's life and my girls life for the better. We see things through different eyes. He has taught us what life is truly about.

I am also thankful to have found your blog. I read all the time but never comment. I wanted to thank you for bringing soooo much attention to the topic of infertility. It is something that is not often spoken about and misunderstood by alot of people. I dealt with so much hurt during my 7 years of infertility. Alot of people dont realize how many people are out there suffering, alot of them in silence because they cant have the miracle that that have been praying for. So, thank you for that!

I've never commented, but I started reading your blog because Harper's take home from the hospital outfit down to the socks was the same that I planned to take my little girl who was born last October home in, but we ended up taking her home on GAME DAY so we switched into OSU orange. She did wear the sweet little dress in her hospital picture though. I realized that we had the same taste in baby clothes and insane love of bows so I became addicted to seeing your family via blog every day. I love hearing what you all are up to!

I've been reading your blog since Harper was born. She is amazingly beautiful and I thank you for sharing your faith and your life with us!

Today I am thankful for clarity. We had a stillborn baby boy in November of 2008. We have been in prayer over whether or not to try again. My story is complicated, as my second baby girl was born at 25 weeks. She is 6 now, but then our baby was stillborn.

The Lord spoke very clearly to me through our pastor yesterday that we should step out on faith and try again. For that, I am VERY thankful!

Much love and many blessings to you, Scott and Harper!

Hello Kelly! Congratulations on your 100th post! I am a lurker from STL, with two young adults in college and no blog of my own. Your blog is inspiring, uplifting, joyous and makes me smile. YOUR BLOG reminds me of many happy memories of the journey of motherhood and God's constant care, love, protection and guidance throughout. For that, I am thankful! My children (and their friends) are most thankful that you posted that sugar cookie recipe-it has become a favorite and very requested treat!

Hi Kelly! My name is Jennifer. I have been reading your blog since I found out that you were pregnant and your due date and mine were close. Then, you ended up having Harper the day before my Emma Kate was born. Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog because our girls are so close in age, in fact, just a day apart! We are doing well in SC, but that GA/ USC game was a heart breaker for us! Keep on blogging! It is just fabulous :)

I have been reading your blog since Harper was born. I linked through a friends site and began praying the day they took Harper to nicu. I am thankful for my life and my children. I had a daughter who passed away when she was 16 months old and after dealing with infertility (after her death) for 6 years I finally got pregnant with my daughter Aleeyah. They almost lost me on the operating table during my c-section with her and I am thankful the Lord seen it fit to let me stay and raise my child. After ealing with infertility I was sure that Aleeyah would be my only daughter, but much to my surprise 18 months later I was pregnant with another daughter. God is wonderful and to him I give praise daily. Even through the sleepless nights, colic, and flu....to him be the praise!!!!

Kelly,
I have been reading for almost a year now. I just happened on your blog one day and fell in love with you and your sweet little girl. I had just gone though a tough breakup with a boy who I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Little did I know that my prince charming was waiting patiently for me. I starting going to a new church in February and found him! We were engaged in May and will be getting married on Feb. 6, 2010!!! I have been so blessed! Your life stories have reached out to me. Sometimes the verse you put up is just what I need to hear! Your show us your life posts have gotten me really excited for my upcoming bridal showers and wedding! My sister-in-law to be had a difficult time conceiving and then delivered 2 months early. They have a happy and healthy 9 month old that I adore! Your down to earth writing style and the truth that you deliver is uplifting and encouraging! I have loved watching Harper grow (esp. the pictures of her on her month birthdays). I am from TN but went to college in AL. I am a die hard SEC fan myself!!! Congrats on your 1000th post! Harper will love to look back at these when she is older! Thanks for everything Kelly! Keep on writing!

I am thankful today because after 7 & 1/2 years of praying God gave us a child and then 20 months later another. My little girl started kindergarten this year and my son started preschool.

Hug Harper extra tight because the time only goes by faster it seems.

Thanks for this blog and your testimony. Your a beacon of encouragement in a world that is filled with so much hurt and despair.

OK - so back to what you asked for. Today I am thankful for my morning walks with my two girls. We walk my oldest daugher, Leah, to kindergarten. God blessed my husband and I with an amazing son through the miracle of adoption almost 3 years ago and he will be turning 3 in 1 month! My husband and I struggled with infertility for 2 years prior to making the decision to adopt. I praise the Lord for opening our eyes and hearts to adoption...it has changed us and blessed us in more ways than we ever dreamed it could have. I praise God every day for leading us to adopt, even though when we were going through infertility, we never felt as though anything good could come from that difficult situation, it did!

Kelly-I've been reading your blog since about the time you had Harper. I think I've commented a couple of times. I am thankful for my wonderful 6-year old daughter from Guatemala. I had problems getting pregnant, then miscarried twice, then divorced. But I wanted to be a mom so bad that I decided to adopt, which ended up being a 4 year process, and trying 3 different countries. In the process I bought matching OSU t-shirts, but would not wear mine until I had a daughter to wear hers. I brought my daughter home 4 years ago and it was an emotional moment for me when we got to wear our matching t-shirts.
