Wow!! You have a growing girl on your hands. Have you tried the new YoBaby 3 in 1. it is a fruit+ veggie+ yogurt. I tried it with my son the other day and he LOVED it. Keep up the good work she is a cutie!!
I'm sure my little girl will be the exact same when she gets to 6 months. We're starting her on cereal this weekend, so we'll see how that goes! Wish us luck! :)
Go Harper! So funny, Brynlee was ALMOST a Harper, I love the name so much! Thank you so much for taking the time and messaging me, it means so much. It's funny because today Brynlee took 2 half hour naps and 1 two hour nap! Unreal! Maybe she's snapping out of it! thanks again :)
and I think that Daddy is going to have to change that diaper tomorrow!
My daughter (3rd baby) is almost 6 months and I skipped right 2 stage 2 foods becasue I hate how runny the stage 1s are. Even the stage 2s I add a little cereal to thicken them up a tad. Her tummy isn't tolerating the yogurt much...causing her to spit up alot.
A tip about applesauce... I just buy the normal (not babyfood) applesauce (the unsweetened...it is sweet enough!) It is thicker babyfood, but I always think it is good to add different textures to baby's diet. SO much cheaper than babyfood applesauce.
Helen's favorite babyfood lately is sweet corn casserole. Strange, huh? She also LOVE squash and sweet potatoes.
lol! My little one has that same appetite. And, Cora's a teeny thing!! I guess Harper and Cora will be the girls that can eat anything and maintain a cute figure. . .she doesn't get it from me! ; )
wow Quite the appetite. My lo could use a lesson from Harper, Oh how I wish she would eat like that, maybe just maybe, she would get some weight on. I can't even begin to get that much down in one day. Harper must be on a growth spurt, and she is a doll,
Impressive! My daughter, who was born the exact same day as Harper, ate probably a dime-sized amount of avocado for dinner tonight. That's all (and completely typical of her). She does, however, nurse like a piranha and weighs 19 pounds, so I don't think she's suffering, but still...way to go, Harper!
I must say that I love your blog. I have seen little Harper eat(your posted videos). She really only got half that in her stomach. LOL If she had eaten all that she would explode.
Hadley used to scare me to death because most days she would eat like a pig & then every now & then barely eat anything. Everybody told me she would eat if she were hungry. (Of course I made sure there was no fever, etc)
Kelly - My 2-year old used to eat like that as well at that age and she was a tiny thing (5% for weight!). Now she is a picky eater...enjoy it while you can!
My goodness that's a lot of food! Little Harper must be going through a growth spurt! I think it is so funny and cute how your Mom comments asking you to post pictures, my Mom is the same way, always asking for pictures of Ryder! Those silly Grammie's, they sure love their babies! ~Katie
Have you seen that the company that makes Yobaby yogurt has yogurt mixed with fruits AND veggies now? My little girl loves it and you get both fruits and veggies at once! I saw it at wal-mart yesterday.
My question is WHERE does she put it!? She doesn't look like a very chunky baby at all! My little London loves to eat too, but has rolls everywhere! haha!
GO Harper!!! Just remember she's got to triple her birth weight by a year (and babies are the chunkiest right before they start crawling... get ready!!)
You could probably start her on 2nd foods with the ones she has had already. They are thicker and you get more in the jar, it would fill her up more too. I would go for it. She is ready!
Just a suggestion: I would get the bigger jars of vegetables and give those to her. My pediatrician always said it was important to establish a love for vegetables at the beginning or else they will just want to eat fruits because they are more sweet and like desert. Not tryin' to tell ya what to do...just a thought! Maybe she could even eat a big vegetable jar and a big fruit jar...this would save a little money. Also you can get all natural, unsweetened regular applesauce in the jar that is a little thicker and more filling. She is precious though no matter what or how she eats and she IS eating and thats all that really matters.
Oh, this is so Cash! My boy can put away some food. You may want to move on to 2nd and 3rd stages. They are bigger jars and have a wider variety of mixed fruits and veggies. Cash LOVES them!
She probably is going through a growth spurt but she also could be ready for table food. When my daughter started eating solids, her pediatrician said as soon as we knew she wasn't allergic to a particular food, she could just eat table food for that. Even without teeth, she ate all her vegetables and a lot of fruits that way. Meat was the only thing we had to watch since she didn't have teeth. She can also feed herself the table food.
WHOA! That is alot..My baby girl just turned 10mths and that's a whole days meal for her. Looks like she's going to have a high metabolism and a big appetite. Harper may be ready for stage 2 and 3 foods; this way she would get more food and it's more of a filler. I wouldn't worry about it though as long as she is keeping it all down, then I'd say your good. The old saying goes' YOU GOTTA EAT ''
I started following your blog just before Harper was born. My little guy, Zane, is just a few weeks older than her and they have so many similarities (ie, not sleeping, fighting naps, big brown eyes ;) and a new found appetite!) I think they must be going through another growth spurt. Fun times!

First fundamental principle of life: "You gotta eat!"
Way to go Harper, you are a chip off of both blocks.
PaPa
Kelly,Looks like a lot of food to me but hopefully Harper is just eating some out of each jar , right?
My little Emma Kate went through a time where she would eat that much when she first started eating solids. Way to go, Harper!!
Good job, Harper! I hope my baby girl learns from you soon.
What a great eater. She is such a doll!
that amazes me! i can barely keep my baby's attention through 1 whole jar. most of the time she quits at 1/2.
Too funny! She is a growing girl. Go Harper go!
How funny!!
Kind of makes you wonder where she puts it all huh? She is cute as ever no matter where she puts it.
wow! how funny!
yeah, she must be having a growth spurt. And a hollow leg? Cutie.

I say~~~time for TABLE FOOD:):)
Tammy
Love it! My Amelia did the same thing for a while. I think it must be a growth spurt. And now she sometimes doesn't even want one whole jar.
~WOW! She does eat very well!
~Blessings to you, ~Melissa ;)
I had one baby that ate like that and it was my middle son! He would eat and eat and eat plus nurse, too! She's a growing girl Mama! :)
lol! My little one has that same appetite. And, Cora's a teeny thing!! I guess Harper and Cora will be the girls that can eat anything and maintain a cute figure. . .she doesn't get it from me! ; )
Yep! She's a growing pup! :)
Whoo hoo! Go big girl! That's great!! :)
Wow, talk about a hungry girl! Nothing wrong with that, though :)

Wow, she was hungry! I don't think my kids ever ate that much in one sitting!

That's how our E.C. ate. She's 22 months now and still a good eater. Until her, I had never seen a baby eat so much at one sitting!!!
Give that girl a steak! Ha! My 8 month won't even eat Puffs! :) She's so adorable!
GO Harper!!! Just remember she's got to triple her birth weight by a year (and babies are the chunkiest right before they start crawling... get ready!!)
She was hungry girl!
She is a hungry girl!!
My 9 month old twins eat more than that at one sitting, not everytime but at least once a day plus they eat table food
You could probably start her on 2nd foods with the ones she has had already. They are thicker and you get more in the jar, it would fill her up more too. I would go for it. She is ready!
I don't think I've ever been more proud of that baby girl. :-)

Healthy appetite! Kelly I know you love red velvet so you MUST try Cheesecake Factory's new red velvet cheesecake. TO DIE FOR!
Sounds like you've got a girl with a great appetite! Go Harper!

Nothing wrong with liking to eat....I sure do:( I really, really need to start a d**t (I hate that four letter word!)
She is so precious. I love the pic that's at the top of the page with the pinkish/melon-y colored bow on her little noggin. Sweet baby.
Ha ha! A girl after my own heart!

WOW!!! You weren't kidding when you said Harper likes to eat!!! :)
Holy cow! You've got to share your secret. I do good to get Harper to eat 1-1/2 jars at a meal. Way to go!
