So, first of all - I talked to Laurie this morning and we agreed that we would be tickled if you could spread the word "chawed" to the ends of the earth. I mean - it really is the perfect word to describe how you feel in certain moments. I have spent most of my adult life being chawed. ha!
Second - I'm laughing at all of your comments on my accent. I used to have a much heavier twang but it has gone away slightly over the years. It's really been an ARK-LA-TEX accent since that is where I grew up (in those 3 states). It gets worse when I'm on the phone or nervous or talking to children and better (or worse depending on how you feel about southern accents) when I'm trying to be serious and professional (exp: the video). HA!
I had a great afternoon. This sweet girl, Sharon, came to visit me today with her mom and two girls. Her parents go to my church and we have a lot of friends in common but have never met. She had a dr's appt in my area today (she is due with #3 in a couple of months) and then came by to visit! I had so much fun with all the girls!!!
She has two beautiful daughters and isn't finding out what #3 is (all of you STRONG people who wait until delivery impress me. I am too much of a planner - I wish I could wait for the surprise). The girls wanted to "hold" Harper. Harper just loved them and watched them and was really good. I knew it would wear her out. Watching older kids always makes her tired - she is CRASHED in bed and sleeping on her back. That always means she is just exhausted. ha!
And well - this picture just cracks me up. I can't tell you how much she and I both are loving that pacifier. If I could just keep it from falling out of her mouth. I'm on constant search and delivery and pacifier washing duty. I have a ton of cute clips that I let her wear some - I guess we need to wear them more.
We have a fun filled day tomorrow. We have play group with our friends, we are stopping by this awesome store in our area called OOPS (they have a ton of cheap, cheap finds but it can be hit or miss - I'll let you know) and then we are going to visit my parents who are at church camp with the teenagers from their church about 30 minutes from where I live (it's a camp I spent my whole life going to). Pray for them - they probably need it. At least they got a week of unseasonably cool weather. I'm excited to show Harper around the place I spent so many summers.

I love your southern twang! You are too cute! I hope you find lot of good deals tomm! Ps Iam so glad Harper is taking a pacifier for you.
Never heard of "chawed". I'm too much of a Northerner! Where we say "uff dah"!
I love "chawed" and lord knows I could use the word....lots. LOL
I've read about OOPS on Shanon's blog...and will definitely be stopping by there on my trip to NWA this fall....FOR SURE!!
You are so cute Kelly! I am from Alabama, so your accent doesn't sound that bad to me! I probably sound REALLY "twangy"!
Well, you know this country talkin girl hearts the twang in a deep way! Looks like ya'll had a fun day - with a fun one in the works for tomorrow! Have a great time and be safe, my dear. Love ya!
I don't notice an accent at all. Maybe it's because I grew up in West Texas, haha!!! She sounds very normal to me YA'LL!!!
Accent? I didn't notice an accent. You sound like everyone else I know!
You did a great job and should be very proud! I loved watching it, seeing Harper smile at her daddy and watching you type with Dawson in your lap.
Nope, nothing here to be chawed about! But I do love that you guys have (had) your own special word.
I love your accent! I have one too being from Texas!
Hope you find some good finds tomorrow shopping!
So many memories...church camp! I still have my journal from camp...too funny!
I am from Texas....and everywhere we travel people know I am from Texas! Be proud f your accent....it is adorable! YOU ARE SUCH A DOLL! My kids LOVED their Paci too....so glad Harper is lovin' hers. It makes life a little easier, huh? I am lovin' the CHAWED word too....I may have to start using it. THANKS! LOL! Enjoy your day tomorrow.....I hope you find some good shopping deals!
Blessings...

I noticed your accent right away, but I am from Wisconsin. People say we have an accent but I don't see it. You did a great job on the interview.
Cute top you have on! Where did u get it?
You did great on the interview!
Brody and I went to Oops today! I didn't buy anything but I had certain things I was looking for.
And I'm going out to Siloam Springs Camp one night next week to visit my Benton friends who are going to be there for Children's camp!! I went there several summers growing up so I'm really excited to go back. I haven't been in years. I hope it's not blazing hot so we can actually enjoy being there.:) Be careful driving!
Bring on the accent, Kelly! I love it...being a Kentucky born girl, once I am around a southern accent, mine comes right back!
Now that's a new word for me but I like it! I grew up in "Lower" Arkansas (El Dorado) and now live in North Louisiana, so I want you to know you sounded completely normal to me on the video! I enjoyed seeing you and Harper live and in person! You did a great job! PS: Are you going to Siloam Springs? I went there one summer when I was about 14.
Love the whole Chawed thing!
Ok, I want your ruffled tank top in the first pic...just don't know where to find it.
It's funny how sometimes when you are talking to folks you try to mask the southerness. When I moved to TN a few years back, they made fun of my southern accent!
I love your accent, and my husband asked who are you listening to talk because she has the greatest aceent ever.
I so love your accent. I am from NC and I get joked on all the time about my southern accent!!
I am sooooooo going to start saying chawed! I think it would be fun to teach the world a new word! Ha! Anyway, LOVE the last pic with the paci! Too cute!!!!!
Your accent isn't that thick to me!
We are leaving the gender of #2 a suprise but I wouldn't say I'm strong! We had planned to but at the last minute my husband couldn't come to the ultrasound so I had the tech print out the picture and seal it in an envelope in case we decided to find out. I didn't peek but when he got home I was dying to open it. He refused! I finally had to send it to a friend's house for safe-keeping because having it right there and available was way too tempting. I think (and hope) it's a girl and plan to get a bunch of Harper-style bows!! (if I'm right, of course!)
As a Louisiana girl myself, I LOVE your accent. And Harper is way too cute. That paci sure seems to make life way easier!
Praying for those teenagers! Harper looks so cute with that pacy in! Mollie Kate was a surprise for us, we had one of each though and my husband begged me to let her be a surprise, I am a planner though too and gave in! It was fun though!
Accent?? What accent???
Love a friend in North Texas! :)
What accent?! Haha It sounds good from Kentucky :)
And talking about unseasonably cold weather... I've been freezing around here!
Hey you can get the pacifers that close when they're dropped. I foget what they're called...
ha! I didn't notice a thang about your accent!
Hey girlie! My grandma (who is from Magnolia) used to say Chawed all the time! How funny, haven't thought of that in ages! Hope ya'll are doing well!
I love the word "chawed" and I am ready to bring it to Alabama!
I saw that Harper is getting into pacifiers and saw that on the Today show the other day they had pacifiers that closed the part of the pacifier that goes in the mouth. Hopfully this helps with the germs!

Awe, it is always fun meeting people. Love that photo of Harper.
kelly,
i didn't even notice you having an accent. i guess because i have one too being from kentucky!
I went to that camp too! Awww. Church camp. Love it.
I also went to a camp in Jasper, AR. Now that's a happenin' place. :)
Girl, you have NO accent compared to me. Mine is bad and when I get with my 4 sisters it gets worse! I have to really think about it if other people (non family) are around. I get "chawed". I love that by the way.
Oh my goodness....You think YOU have an accent? You speak plum "Northern" compared to me....LOL!! But I guess that's what happens when you grow up in Alabama!
{{HUGS}}
Robin :o)
I agree that you are too cute. I am from the west coast but I love Southern accents. Love the picture of Harper in her saucer.
Being a yankee, I wish I could get away with using ya'll, so I don't know how chawed will go over! I may give it a try though!
Where are you getting all your adorable tank tops?
I was going to say you needed the pacifiers that have covers that close when they're dropped but someone else beat me to it. I saw them on the Today Show.

I go to church with Sharon! I knew she had a doctors appt but I didnt know where! I about passed out when I seen her with you! Why, you are a celebrity here in the South!
You did really well on the interview! (And those pacifier clips are a lifesaver for me!)
I was pleased to hear a southern accent! I'm from Alabama and have a very southern accent (people from around here even comment on it). So, I'm always glad to hear that I'm not the only one. And I've always wondered if you Arkansas-ians had accents!
I just love your accent! because I have one too! being from Texas it's just part of the "charm"...and after a visit home that accent comes out full force! Why I'm even quite famous for the word "white"...cause when I say it, it has about 6 syllables!
Have a great day tom.!
Hope you find some fun treasures!
Blessings!
Jill
Don't be chawed about your accent...It's so cute! I grew up in Little Rock and moved to Dallas about two years ago. I am sad I'm losing my accent, but my husband assures me I still say "peench" instead of "pinch." HA! Have a blast tomorrow!
OMG I love you even more now than i did before... you are just too cute... loved your interview and i would have to agree with the others dont be chawed about your accent it is too cute... of course i am from alabama so I can be chawed about mine for sure... thanks again for an awesome blog!!!
We lived in Siloam Springs and spent lots of time at that camp. Enjoy your visit! I think they've remodeled quite a bit, maybe?
Southern accents are very charming! I'm glad I have one too:)
Please visit one of my fav blogs http://thedavisfamilynwa.blogspot.com/
She lives in Arkansas and her house was MADE a home by OOPS! You might be neighbors.. who knows!? LOL
Hey southern girls can't help it! ;-)
Once I was in Hawaii and was talking with some locals....in the middle of the conversation they asked me if I was from Texas!?! I told them yes and asked how they knew....yes, girl it was that obvious!
Have fun tomorrow! Can't wait to see pics!
Thought the news clip was great! I don't know if you remember me, but we had our little girls around the same time. Harper is growing like a weed, and so is my little Sophie. Six months IS the golden age!
Love the word "chawed." I'll help spread the word. :)
Lydia
I clicked over from Tara's blog and poked around yours. You have a great blog and a sweet family. What a darling baby girl.
Stop by my site when you have time. I write to encourage MOMS in the fine art of Christian mothering.
I host a meme called 5 Things Friday and I hope you will join in. God bless as you train up your child in the way she should go!
There is NOTHING better than a Southern twang. I love yours and I love mine--what is better is that my sweet Cash (3yrs old) has got a precious Southern Twang!!
It seems to really surface on video--love your TV debut BTW!!
Visit my Southern Blog when you get time--life with babies is very busy!!
I am totally going to swipe Chawed and spread it!! It's totally the perfect word to describe that horrible moment you may have had!!
The good news about the paci is they start being able to put it in their mouth soon... seven-ish months!! We loved the paci in this house too!!
I'll use the word Chawed, but only if you do a video example of how to say it! ahahah! I think that would be sweet! And I really would use it if I knew exactly how to say it.
I can not believe with all the cute clothes Miss Harper has, that you have her NAKED! :P Only kidding. London's closet is about to explode too and we just had "diaper day" today. She loves running around as close to naked as possible.
Hope y'all have fun tomorrow!
I just love that picture of her in the exersaucer. Not many baby pictures make me want another baby but that one did me in. I love her expression in that one. I wanna grab her out and love on her!
Happy hunting tomorrow. I LOVE me a good deal. And I think your accent is to stinking cute.
Harper is so cute. I wish my little one took a paci. He just chews and chews on his own hands! Ouch. We are so blessed to have our kids. So happy Harper is happy and healthy
Accent? What accent? Honey, I live in Alabama and mine is MUCH worse. I've been here 15 years now (but grew up in WV.) When I first came here, I got asked where I was from a lot. Haven't had that in a long time now! I blend right in!
Love the southern accent...nothing wrong with that!! I have the biggest one, too :)
Cute picture of Harper with her paci...love those big eyes!!
And I was thinking you didn't have much of an accent. I lived in Collierville, TN for a couple of years and I could listen to a Southern accent all day long.
I just love all things Southern (minus bugs and tornadoes!) and miss Tennessee all the time. I love your blog.
You girlies are so stylish! I love all of harpers big flowers and bows =)Where can I find this shirt you are wearing? I am soo in love with ruffly shirts right now. They are so much fun to wear and look so cute! I am drooling over this one you have on!
Hy Kelly!
For the falling paci thing I think you should check this out
http://pacimals.com/
i LOVED your post about being 'chawed'! just laughed out loud...my grandparents used to say that all the time, but i haven't heard it in years. it is an excellent word, though, and one that i've used before in my husband's presence. i also had to educate him about being 'chawed'. thanks so much for sharing-i chuckle every time i think about it. i'm going to have to start using this word more often!
HA! I'm from NC and watched that whole video and didn't even notice your twang once! Mine must be pretty bad too!
Can you mention what camp your parents are at this week, or send me an email? I am looking for a good one for my son to attend in the NWA area, and always love your suggestions. Thanks!
Nothing wrong with a Southern accent! :)
Just a wild guess - did you go to Kanakuk Kamp? It's a Christian sports camp near Branson. My kids both went there. My daughter went for 5 years, and my son went for 7 years. They always called it the "best place on Earth."
Hi! My son is always plopping out his pacifiers and sometimes I do not have a place to attach it to his outfits, so I always attach it to his little blanket that he holds! When he is in his carseat or jumper, I just put his blanket near so he has his pacifier as well! :)
I love visitors!
I am from Tennessee so your accent sounds normal to me! If people don't like your accent at least your pretty! Anyways a little tip on the pacifier cleaning...if you dilute Listerine with water and put it in a small pump spray bottle (I found mine at sally's beauty supply but you can find them in the travel size toiletry department in Walmart) you can spray that on her pacifier and it will kill the germs when she has dropped it on the floor. Great for when you are out in public and can't wash it anywhere! Just a tip!
I guess being from Alabama I totally didn't even notice the accent, isn't that funny? In college I was a news broadcasting major so I spent 4 years trying to "rid" myself of the accent, but like you, it comes out at certain times...especially when I'm around my family!
I love the paci pics! Asher just likes to play with his, he'll chew on the sides but never puts it in his mouth. When I try to, he purses his lips so that it flies across the room! ha!
I remember that camp from last year, I hope your Mom & Dad have fun!!!
So I guess you already know that September 26th is our day...ROOOOOOOL TIDE! ;)
I don't know what I would do without the pacifier...my daughter loves hers too! And yes...its so funny trying to keep it in her mouth when she needs it! I should go find some cute clips, haven't done that yet! What a fun day with visitors, I hope you have a wonderful busy day today! You and Harper are so cute as usual!
Oh, and the accent is so cute too...I'm from CO, but part of me has always wanted a southern accent. I have a couple of friends with one and I just love it!
My 13 year old cousin is at AR Baptist camp this week! I sent her a package on Monday. I remember when Becky & I used to go, some kids would get packages with baby powder or confetti in them that said "OPEN ME"! Then they would bring that person to the front & shower them with the stuff in the envelope! I was always so worried that my family would send something like that - every summer, but it never happened. My mom knows how shy we were, haha. Fun times at that camp...
Bon
I have that same Ark-La-Tex accent! Grew up and still live in the Shreveport-Bossier area. Your video was great!
I will so spread the "chawed" love! I probably have to use it very often:)
I moved to the NE almost 5 years ago from NC. I think I stick out like a sore thumb and I do get asked frequently "Where are you from?" But most people say I don't sound like they thought I would.
Yippee for the paci Harper!
The word "chawed" makes me laugh!! I will probably start using it though, because it really is perfect for describing that feeling haha!! I LOVE your purple tank top, please tell me where you got it.
The picture of Harper with the paci is so cute!! Don't you just adore paci's? Precious!!
Have you ever heard of Wubba Nubs? They are the best thing ever! A little animal attatched to a binky so Harper can find it when it falls out of her mouth in the car, middle of the night, ect.
http://www.wubbanub.com/index.html
Hi! I found you by "blog stalking" and have been following your blog for many, many months...and LOVE IT! I just wanted to mention that there are new pacifiers out, the same type as Harper uses, that when dropped, they snap shut to avoid all the germies. I have seen them various places so this might be helpful! Just wanted to leave my two cents. :)

I wish I was going to OOPS and Siloam with you today!! Fun!
I didn't even notice your accent on the video. Ha!!
sounds like Siloam Springs to me!!! i remember the summer we worked there together! i spent my younger years there as well...have fun!
Kelly,
Saw a segment on the today show the other day that made me think of you.since Harper has a new bff(the paci) I thought this was neat for new moms. It's a pacifier but when it's dropped it closes so no germs get on them. I think it would be great if you were out somewhere cuz outside germs are a little different from home germs.I also thought it was great to store them you don't get lint or anything else on them when you throw them in the bottom of a bag or purse. Let me know what you think. The segment is on the Kathie Lee and Hoda website but I also found them here http://www.babyearth.com/razbaby-keep-it-kleen-pacifier-silicone.htmlnce
Oh and the language....every since I can remember I say "cha" meaning yes. I now have my mother saying it. It dates back to when I was a teenager and is one of those habits I can't break.
Have a great day and let me know what you think bout the paci's:)
Hope
What a cute picture of Harper! She is such a doll!
Hey girl, just wanted to let you know that I am from Tennessee, and can't even hear an accent!
.
That last picture is adorable! :)
Another blog that I frequent was just talking about girls camp with their church. She had some neat "Life Story" downloads for young women and also for adults. They are for documenting "Your Story" with some really helpful prompts to tell all about yourself. Thought you might like it: beckyhiggins.com/blog
Huh? What accent?! Just sounded like home to me.
Love from an AL girl :)
My daughter has that same exact binky!!!!!
Kelly-
I so enjoy reading your blog and appreciate your openness about motherhood. My son is two months old and I have been able to glean so much valuable advice and ideas from you. Thank you for sharing your sweet Harper with the world.
-Rachel
I loved watching your interview, and love the southern accent. I am jealous, b/c my accent is not even from here. lol
I think the funny thing is that I didn't even consider your accent to be anything out of the ordinary when I heard it! Of course here in Tennessee I guess people think we talk kinda funny too. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. You are an amazing Christian woman who I can tell is very humble. Your daughter is beautiful and I love to read about her! It reminds me of when my 2 1/2 year old girl was her age. It goes by so fast!
Sweet pictures of you and your friends. Please share where you got your super cute shirt.
I bought a dress once at a store called Oops in Charleston! It is one of my favorites...and it was really cheap! I wonder if it is the same...hm?
Hi Kelly! I am from Oklahoma and a few of my family members told me I should start reading your blog. Did you go to OBU? That may be how my step-sister, McKenzie (Meyer) Gordon knows you...Anyway, they told me I should read your blog because I am 36 weeks pregnant with a girl, whom we are naming Harper! Your Harper has the most adorable clothes with her name on them, and I was curious if you would be interested in selling her outgrown "Harper" things. Just let me know and have a wonderful day!
Hi! I just found your blog and wanted to introduce "myself". I'm Amber originally from GA and have been transplanted to Northern California. I love to comment and just wanted to say, "hello".
I think you did wonderful on your interview! You should hear my southern accent... oh my! I LOVE OOPS! Isn't that such a fun store? Do you scrapbook also?
Hugs - Tiffany, Baylee and Blair
I didn't even notice an accent. But then again, it is the norm for me. I was born in VA, and have lived in NC,AL,GA, NC and SC. I have never been further North than VA...you can imagine what I sound like and get used to hearing!
Kelly, I just love to read your blog and see the daily pictures of Harper. So I live in Alma, Arkansas and love to come to NW Arkansas shopping with my "Ya-Ya's". Where do we find Oops?? Sounds like a cool store?
I watched your news video and did not notice an accent at all. I am from Oklahoma so maybe we talk alike. I think you talk just fine. It's the other people that talk funny!
Kelly, love the word. I'm spreading it in CA, and CO, and on my blog! I told a 'chawed' story. www.meghebs.wordpress.com
Thanks for a fun new word!
I was just at an OOPS last week - that place is wild! Good luck bargain-hunting!
The picture of Harper in her bouncer with her paci is hilarious. She is such a cutie and I am so happy that she is feeling better. I have been reading for a long time but this is my first comment; just wanted to thank you for being such an inspirational person.
Harper is just a doll and I am loving watching her grow up quickly! I also wanted to tell you that my friend, whose name is Kelli, just had a baby girl, and named her Harper. She had been struggling with a name for the baby, and I suggested it after reading your blog. So, Harper Stamps, meet Harper Sullivan! http://dlprenkert.blogspot.com/2009/07/harper-rylee-sullivan-is-here.html
As far as the paci clip is concerned... I had to comment about that... it's so funny- I can remember when we were going through that and my hubby and I actually thought about inventing a portable paci cleaner/steamer. We went as far as doing the research to see if it was patented and there are some on the market and a patent is pending! Haha! Maybe you could find you one of those (I've never seen them as of yet) cause yes, even with the clip, it's still hard to keep clean!
Chawed has a completely diffrent meaning here in Maine. It means chewed up and spat out. I got a kick out of your use of the word. I thought at first that they didn't use your clip in a positive light. I was so glad to be proven wrong.
I'm telling you that when my three boys were babies the pacifier was my best friend, I would put three in their cribs at night so that if they woke up they could put it in their mouth, Harper is a little young for that but she will catch on! Love the pic of her and the two little girls are just adorable!
Hey Kelly
You might already know this but my sister found these pacifiers for me (I am due in a few weeks with my first) and when they drop they automaticaly close!! I have gotten a few and it never fails as soon as you drop it it closes. They are amazing and come in super cute designs. The name is:
Keep-it-Kleen Pacifier - Silicone
by Razbaby ....like I said I dont have a baby yet, so I'm not sure how he will like it but I wanted to let you know since you are having to clean it so much! Hope that helps!
I'm a first time commenter but have been following you for a while. I just wanted to tell you that my husband and I are struggling with IF and your blog gives me so much hope.
Not sure if anyone else posted this: I'd know a MAM binky-face anywhere. We love them in our house!
http://www.albeebaby.com/sassy-mam-pacifier-keeper.html
Not only do you not have to search for it, you don't have to clean it ALL DAY LONG!!!! (although Harper will have to wear a shirt to attach it to!) And you don't have to order it online. You should be able to find it in Target/Babies R US, etc. Your daughter is beautiful.
Oh next to my home I love Siloam. I'm headed there next week, hope the weather is as nice as it has been this week!
Didn't notice an accent!!!
My husband would tell you that he misses my southern drawl.....he was sad when I moved from TX to MO and had to change my voicemail message!!! Anyways, it seems like in every picture I have seen of Harper that she has a different pacifier. I guess she'll be the new pacifier trend setter huh?? Just wait, you know it'll happen !!!
We tend to lose the pacifer and the holder as well!! ;) I just want my baby to be able to find it in her crib in the middle of the night!! That's not asking too much??? ;) Nah, it's ok, I will get up every night for the rest of my life if she needs me to!
Kelly, I live in Ft. Smith and saw you on ch. 5's news, you were so pretty and sweet. Harper is a doll, and I love her name since it is my maiden name! Your blog today was really touching. You have a beautiful outlook. My 2 boys are older, one at UA Ft. Smith, the other going to UA Fayetteville, in about a month. I'm not ready for that. Best to you and your wonderful family, I will follow you. GO HOGS!
I just have to tell you how weird it is to read about you using the word "Chawed". When I was in upper elementary/middle school we used that word ALL the time, but in a slightly different way. If someone else did something embarassing, was tricked by someone, or messed something up, we would say, "CHAWED" to them. I know that sounds mean- but it was middle school, right?! Anyway- when I ran across it on your blog it brought back lots of memories so I wanted to share that with you!
