IMPORTANT: I'm sure you all read Mckmama - but if you don't - please go here and pray for her baby Stellan. He was a miracle baby but he is now having very serious health issues. They need our prayers.
I haven't written in the last few days because I've been dealing with my first big challenge as a mommy - "Momma doesn't get sick days".
I have been pretty sick all day Friday and Saturday. I think more than anything it is just exhaustion because Harper didn't sleep much the few nights before and I just hadn't had any rest. I don't get sick very often but it is especially hard to be sick and have to take care of a baby.
My parents were here on Friday so that helped a lot. My dad went with me to help me clean out my office. They had a cake for me and gave me some sweet parting gifts. My work was so supportive about me leaving - it meant so much to me. We enjoyed having Nonny and Granddaddy here.
I felt better Saturday morning and my friend Hillary was in town so Laurie and I met her for brunch at Mimi's. YUM! I was so excited all week because my favorite muffin was in season - chocolate banana! It is the BEST! The company was even better - I love my friends. Those two girls make me laugh so hard.
This is how I spent the rest of the day on Saturday. Harper doesn't nap during the day most of the time but I think she knew mommy was tired and needed some rest. She and I sat on the couch and she fell asleep in my lap so we laid there for 4 hours and slept together. I think we both needed that! (She is OUT in this picture. ha!)
Here is my girl this morning - her onesie says "Not spoiled, BLESSED!". So true! Scott went to church and I am home watching some local churches on TV. I'm missing singing in the choir this morning. I look forward to being able to worship again soon! (although I worship alone by myself all the time!)
Hope you are having a good weekend. It's spring break here this week and it seems like everyone is on a fabulous trip. Vacations are one of the best things EVER! Sometimes planning a trip and the anticipation are just as great as the trip itself.
Also - I love how small blogging makes the world. You remember how I told you that I discovered that the dr who delivered Harper was my long lost friend from 4th grade? Well I saw the comments from another blogger this week and she and her sister went to church with us when we lived in that same town. I had to tell her what a small world it was and that I knew her! And then the next day - she delivered a little boy and he has pneumonia and is in the NICU. Luckily- he is doing better than Harper did at first - but he could still use our prayers. Go look at Tenille's blog and pray for little Will.
Also - this young mother lost her husband and the father of her two young boys yesterday to a brain tumor. Please pray for peace and comfort.

I hope you feel better soon! I am home from church this morning myself...my little Lucy has been running a temp for the last few days, so I am keeping her in. This may sound silly, but I sometimes think God lets us be sick or lets our little ones be sick to give us some slow-down time. Mommies need that so much! I try to see the blessings in everything as much as I can...as I know you do to. Thanks for all of your sweet words!!
Have a wonderful Lord's Day!
Love ya!
Shannon
Hope you feel better soon! Laying on the couch with a sleeping baby is the best :) My daughter would sleep for hours like that. Love the onsie and tutu!
i just LOVE that last pic of harper!!!! such a doll =) congrats, btw, on your new "job!!"
Kelly,
So sorry you've been sick. Hope you are feeling better real soon.
Harper in the tutu is the cutest thing!!!
Have a Blessed Sunday,
Dawn
I'm home from church too...my girl has asthma so we have to keep her out of the nursery for a few more months. Sorry you've been sick but it sounds like you were smart and just rested when you could! I had a post ready about some earrings I got after reading your post on recession fashion and then something else happened but in the next few days I'll do it and let you know. I thought it was hilarious and I hope you do too. I love Harper's shirt!
Hope you're feeling better!
Love to travel, but agree that the planning can be almost as much fun! Thanks for all the sweet pictures of Harper.
Aww, Kelly, hope you get to feeling better!!!! That picture of Harper is soooo precious :)
Sorry you've been sick! It's so hard on a mom. I woke up at 4 this morning feeling like I was getting a stomach virus. I was begging God, PLEASE NO! My hubby is preaching all 3 services at church today and it just would have been awful. I hope you feel better asap! And I hope Harper starts taking naps for her mommy.
I hope you get to feeling better soon! Harper looks too cute in that tutu!
I LOVE MiMi's! We've been going every weekend just for the chocolate chip and banana muffin - heaven!
Kelly, hope you get to feeling better! That is the cutest picture of Harper in the tutu!

I hope you feel better soon Kelly! The last picture of Harper is adorable! Love her tutu =]
Hope you feel better soon.
Harper is too cute in that tutu
It won't be long before you and Scott whisk Harper to a great Spring Break getaway. Start planning now and maybe that will help your 'spring fever!' :) Feel better soon!
Sorry to hear you've been feeling sick! Yes, it is so hard being a sick mommy. I'm glad Harper took a good nap in your lap! Take care!
Sheryl
Praying you get to feeling better soon Kelly. Also praying Harper doesn't catch it. I know how you feel nope mommy's don't get sick days. But we get the best job in the whole wide world.
Kristie
Kelly, I love your blog! Harper is such a precious gift!
I know what you mean about missing church...it's so weird when I ever have to miss church.
Have a blessed Sunday, Kelly!
I hope you feel better soon!
I hope you feel better:) Harper is too cute in that tutu!!
I am so sorry you haven't been feeling well! I am glad you are doing better - praying for 100% soon!! I love the picture of ya'll on the couch. I think it should be entitled "Being exactly where you're supposed to be." :-) Ya'll are the sweetest.
And YAY for getting together with funny friends. Ya'll are a gorgeous group of girls, that is for sure!
Hope the rest of your Sunday goes well, my friend. Praying for you!!
Sorry you have been sick. It is not easy to be sick when you have a baby! So glad you had some help.
Harper looks so adorable in her little tutu!
When my first son was 8 weeks old, I got very sick. Throwing up, the works. It was horrid. I thought there was no way I could take care of him, continuing to nurse him every three to four hours. God took care of me, as it was the first night he slept all night! (That trend didn't continue for a few more weeks, but God knew I needed it that night!)
Hope you feel better soon, and BOY your pictures are adorable! :)
I hope you feel better soon!! It is crazy when Mama is sick, everything stops =)!! Even at 5 and 2, my two still want to sleep with me when I am sick, its like they know. Enjoy that sweet girl - that tutu pic is the CUTEST!!!!
I love harpers onesies! I will be praying that you get your much needed sleep!
Get well soon Mama! I appreciate your prayers, I hope you start to feel better soon and that Harper sleeps well tonight. Someone suggested to me feeding them at midnight even if they just ate like 2 hours ago...I tried that with Asher and he slept until 6am!
Get well soon Kelly! You guys are in my prayers and I hope you feel better soon. Harper looks adorable in her blessed onsie :)
~Elyse~
Glad you feel better! Love the pictures!
We hope that you feel better, that is one thing about being a full time mommy, no sick days, but in the long end it is so worth it! I love the picture of Harper with the tutu on...She is so stinkin' cute!
Hope you feel better! I am sick from allergies and baseball games. They don't mix. :( Harpers is growing up so precious!!
Get well soon! I just love sweet Harper! She is so precious. She reminds me of my Gracie-now 4! Enjoy this time, because they grow up so fast! I am glad you will get to stay home with her. That is the one thing I wanted to do, but with my son being on the Autism spectrum, I had to stay teaching to keep up woth him and put him in the school I wanted. It is a huge plus to have inside connections! Enough about me! I am glad whe is happy, healthy & beautiful!
We are taking turns going to church also. Maybe Easter Sun will be Baby M's first Sun. I miss worshipping in our sanctuary too! Good thing God is with us everywhere. Hope you're feeling better!
Oh, I definitely feel your pain. I remember what a rude awakening it was the first time I got sick when my daughter was a baby. I would just lay my head on the pillow and she would wake up from her nap and cry, as if she was waiting for it!I hope you feel better soon!
i hope you feel better!! praying for you and baby harper. :) Happy Spring!
Happy Sunday Kelly. I am glad you are feeling better. I went through the same thing this week. I am a single mom of a 6 year old little boy and we were both sick. I did call my mom crying this week because it is hard to be a sick Mom and take care of a sick child. It was very difficult. Ms. Harper is beautiful. I love looking at all her pictures you post everyday.

Hope you are feeling better! Harper in that tutu is sooo adorable!! Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for the email!
Hope you feel better. A few nights with little sleep really make me feel sick.
I am loving the blog world more and more and it is a SMALL world. I have found several people from my past..
Have a great and restful day and a "sleep-filled week"!
Teresa
Hope you feel better soon! I SO miss my babies sleeping on me - cherish every second of it (I know you are!)
I hope you are feeling better soon! LOVE that picture of Harper in her tutu! TOO cute! I'm glad you got to see Hillary yesterday. How much longer until you get to bring Harper out to your brunch dates? :-)
I'm so sorry you haven't felt well. I love the picture of Harper sleeping. That's too cute! I hope you are feeling better soon!
Hope you get to feeling better! Harper is a doll.
Blessings to you!
Feel better and get lots of rest! I love Harper's outfit!
That muffin sounds so good.
HI Kelly, Hope you are feeling better today. It is rough being sick and a Mommy. Thank Goodness for Nonny and Grandaddy! Harper is just too cute in her tutu. Also the crochet blanket is beautiful. Did you make it?
Keeping you in my heart in GA.
Donna
Hope you feel better soon!! Our house has been a little under the weather too... Don't know how you do it with a little one!! And still manage to look so great too!!
Praying you're not under the weather long. Harper gets cuter with each passing day.
Aha! You finally learned. Mom's are not allowed to get sick. How I used to long for the luxury of being sick and having someone take care of me. Not happening.
We had a good service this morning. It was a salvation message. Mike Huckabee was in our town filming a special about saving us. We have a horrible unemployment rate. It is heartbreaking. Our pastor focused on saving our community spiritually.
My youngest daughter is expecting again. The time is drawing close where she suffers from miscarriage. She has been inspired by all of Harper's bows and would like a little girl!
Hang in there. This too shall pass. I promise. Those sleepless nights and isolated days will pass.
Hope you feel better...it is SO hard to be sick and be a Mom! I have 3 kids and I have not gotten a real sick day in almost 12 years...you muddle thorough but it is so tough. I hope you feel better and I am glad you had your parents to help a bit:)
Kim
It would be so nice if momma's got sick days to recover and get well! I'm glad your parents were able to help out some and that you and Harper got rest on Saturday. (: Praying you get well real soon!!!
Wishing you continued rest and that you are back to feeling better very soon. :o)
xo,
Shannon
I stumbled across your blog when you were in labor with Harper. I've been following your blog ever since! I've even started my own blog! Harper is just adorable and I LOVE all of her outfits and pictures, it makes me want to have a little girl. I hope you get back on your feet and feeling better soon. Conrats on being a stay at home mom!!!
I hope you feel better soon! It is very hard to be sick and take care of kiddos...it's true there's no such thing as "sick days" for the Mom. Thinking of you!
Oh, being the sick one is the worst! Well, not worse than seeing your baby sick, but it's so hard to keep up the care of our little ones and the house, etc when we don't feel well.
Harper looks so cute sleeping. I love that "I surrender" sleep pose. :)
I have NO problem with mommies who work outside of the home... but, I adore being a SAHM, and I'm so glad you get to enjoy that too! It is hard! - but, comes with so many special blessings.
Ruthie :)
Yum! Chocolate banana...can you ship one to Florida? I am glad you are feeling a little better, and I hope you and Ms. Harper get some rest this week.
When I am EXHAUSTED I get sick, too - but being sick is hard when you try and care for a baby. :( Hope you feel better by tomorrow.
By the way, enjoy the naps that Harper and you can take lying together... my son is now 20 months old and naps well - but not when I try and hold him, ha.
I hope you get to go back to church soon. How long before Harper can go out with others?
Love your blog :)
So glad you got some "girl time" with your friends. I hope you're feeling better and rested.
It's amazing how you've gotten back in touch with people through your blog.
Have a blessed Sunday with your family.
Hope you feel better Kelly! Chocolate banana muffins?? I've never heard of them and can't wait to try one!! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Hey Kelly...
I hope you are feeling better today. I was sick with some nasty crud on Thursday and Friday, but feeling better today. It is soooo hard when momma's go down.
Hopefully you'll get some great weather for the week ahead.
Hugs,
Fran
I hope you get to feeling better--that picture of you and Harper is so cute! Glad you got to enjoy lunch with friends--that's always good for the soul. I'm so excited that you're going to be a stay at home mommy--I have dreamed of that since I was little, so, I can't wait to read about your experiences and adventures!
I hope that you feel better soon.
Bless your heart. It's tough when mamma's are sick. Hope you're feeling better soon. Harper gets cuter and cuter. Y'all are certainly blessed!!
Get well soon! Looks like your little Harper didnt make the weekend too terrible for you. Glad that everything went well with parting from work. I bet it was the best day of your life!
Hope you get to feeling better soon and Harper starts taking better naps for you. that's rough on a mom! I love the pic of Harper in her little tutu, so cute!
Kelly,
Ohh I didn't realize what a BIG part of my day you and Harper are until you were gone a few day. Mercy!
Get well real soon. Wish I lived closer (Atlanta) I would bring you some of my famous Chicken Soup! LOL
Really, I would.
Bless You and your family,
Miss Lila in Atlanta

Kelly,
Just read your post from Thursday and how exciting that you are able to stay at home with Harper. I am glad that worked out for you.
It is so hard to be sick and be the mama. I was sick yesterday, too.....some sort of stomach bug. Thankfully, hubs was home most of the day to help me out!
Sorry that you haven't been feeling well. It is so hard to be sick with a baby in the house. Glad you had some willing helpers.
I hope you feel better soon! I myself have had some experiences lately with no sick days. My hubby works sometimes 70 hours a week, and last month, my 18-month-old got the croup and then passed the infection to me! No rest for mommies. Also, I too love Mimi's chocolate chip banana muffins! Get well soon, and let all those chores pile up while you get better.
I've had an on the couch kind of day myself. I love how God builds them in at just the right time. ~lee ann
Hope you feel better soon!
Glad your transition to stay at home mommy has gone smooth!
being sick and being a full-time homemaker is the worst! it doesn't happen to me often, but it feels like i'm coming down with a sinus infection. yuck!
Pray you feel MUCH better REAL soon Kelly. I'll be praying for your friends little Will and thanks for asking for prayer for the O'Neill Family.
Blessings to you and your family today and always,
Kaye
Matthew 21:22
Kelly, I totally feel your sickness pain! I pray you get over it quickly and thoroughly! Hang in there! Love, Anna
Hope you are feeling better soon, Kelly. I am glad to read that Harper napped with you on the couch. Glad your folks could come help out too!
Kelly, I am sick too! I never get sick, and it's my first time since I had Clara. I'm thinking I need a Sonic drink to help me feel better. I hope you're feeling much better! Glad the weather is good, and glad your new boss is taking it easy on you this weekend!
Harper is too cute especially the one where she is out! I hope you are feeling better...and I hope you are getting some well deserved rest this weekend!
Kelly-
I have been following your blog since Miss Harper was born and have been praying for you both. I am so happy to see you are both doing so well now. I know you have heard everyone in the worlds sad story but I also know many many people look at your blog every day. A good friend's baby has been in the hospital for 6 months now and the doctors have given up all hope. I am posting this in hopes that other visitors to your site will read it and pray. Right now prayer is her only hope, there is nothing medically that can be done. This baby has been a miracle for the last six months, overcoming many obstacles and needs just one more miracle. I wish to protect the family's privacy, so I will not give details. If anyone who reads this will please pray for baby RENEE I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!! I will post an update if I am able.
Hi Kelly I have been reading your blog for some time.. God bless that beautiful baby girl.
I enjoy her pictures and love the hats. I have 4 and one on the way grandchilden.
God bless, mary
Hello,
I've been following your blog since your beautiful daughter was born..praying for your family while she was in the hospital and praising God when she was able to go home. Did I mention she is ADORABLE?? :) I love all the bows!
I was wondering if you have any links that I could go to in order to customize my blog header...I would like to make one with the text something like yours....but I can't find out how!!!
p.s. hope you feel better soon!!
I hope you are feeling better soon, poppet. I *love* Harper's onesie!
Cxx
I love how positive you always are - your joy comes through in all of your posts! Thank you!
How long were you at your job? I know you have talked about how wonderful your coworkers are, so I am sure it was hard to leave. I am struggling with the same thing now. I work at a wonderful accounting firm with excellent people.
Kelly,
I have been reading your blog since Harper was born and I love all the pictures of her. You blog is always so uplifing and when I am having a bad day, all I have to do is check out your blog and a smile creeps across my face. I am an aunt to a beautiful nephew, but would love to have a niece to dress up like you do Harper. Maybe I will have my own little girl some day. Any way keep up the good work. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your life with me. Hope you are feeling better!!!
Courtney
I am sooo sorry you have been sick. It is so not fun being sick and taking care of a little one. I'm glad you are feeling better!! Have a WONDERFUL week!
Hope you feel better soon!
There's nothing like mommy exhaustion. I swear it beats all other kinds of tiredness there is. It does get better, and the time flies.
Tht picture of her in the brown onesie with the tutu is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Hope you are feeling better!
being sick and being a mommy at the same time is always very tough! I hope you start feeling better soon...love the pic of Harper asleep with you on the couch! I love those moments :)
Hello! I found your blog through a friend (a fellow Razorback gal!) and have loved reading about your adventures of new motherhood. The photo of you and Harper relaxing on the couch made me miss the days when my now 17-month old daughter would fall asleep on my chest. That NEVER happens anymore! Enjoy this special cuddle time while you can . . . it goes by so fast!

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Thanks for writing even though you're down. Harper is adorable!
That is no fun! I hope you're feeling better soon! :) Congrats on your "new" job too!
Hey!! I found your blog through a friend and I love reading it!! I have a 10 month old daughter and I can so relate!! I love to see Harper and her bows, we love bows too!! Love the shirt too!!
Tara in Kentucky!!
Oh I hope you are feeling better!
That picture of Harper in the Tutu is the cutest stinkin' picture!
By the way...the shirt you are wearing..is that a PJ shirt from Wal-Mart!? I LOOOVE my shirt!
Anywho...just thought I recognized it.
On another note, when do you think you will be able to take Harper to church!?
Thank you SO MUCH for asking for prayer for us. It is sustaining us and we feel His presence all around us. Praying for you to feel better soon and get and extra dose of high energy!! :) In Him, Tenille
http://tenille.blogplot.com
Kelly,
You always inspire us to be better people. Thank you. I left you something over at my blog.
Sorry to hear you have been sick, Kelly! Oh, that is so incredibly hard when you have a tiny baby! I feel for you! Thank goodness your Momma and Daddy were there to help out a little bit over the weekend.
And, Oooooooh, look at that crashed out face on Harper! Cathchin' flies... Too funny! Amelia has always and still does sleep with her arms in that straight-up, hold-em-up position. Don't they just look so precious and helpless when they are sleeping??
I know exactly how you feel. I made it back to church for the first time since Emma was born. I'm definitely posting an update about that on my blog. I was so nervous I went with just Emma and all her things to see how it would work out. She slept in a woman's arms at the church nursery for most of the time. One more little challenge that we over came together hee hee.
Hope you are feeling better soon!!
Must be blogger get sick week... I've been sick since Friday and still feel pretty awful today.

I hope you feel better soon!
Love your blog, Kelly! And Harper is cute as a bug! She's absolutely precious!! Hey, just wondering if your Jillian Michaels video is working out for you? I actually just ordered it myself, but haven't got to try it yet! =)
Hope all is well with the new job.
God Bless!
hope you get better quicker than we did. I was sick for 14 days before I finally gave in and went to the doc -
Its rough! HOpe you all get to feeling better, or at least some sleep!
I hate that you've been sick. Hope you feel better soon. And you're so right in saying that Mom's NEVER get sick days! I had the flu a couple weeks ago and just wanted to crawl in bed and hibernate for a week...but I can't do that now with 2 kids at home...but my hubby was a big help..as I'm sure Scott is to you. Feel better soon!
Oh I just clicked and read some of your recipes! Yum and easy!! I am excited to try some of them. You will have to keep posting them. Thanks!! I always need new ideas.
My mom stayed with me for 4 weeks after my daughter was born. I got sick with a nasty head cold the DAY AFTER she left to go home to Minnesota. I was so discouraged and tired with a tiny baby and trying to figure out how to do it all on my own. Get some rest and go get a sunrise drink from Sonic, a good burst of Vitamin C in the OJ. :)
Thank you for the extra prayers on our behalf. I cannot begin to comprehend what God has in store for us at this point in time, but Brian always told me God must think pretty highly of us to feel we are capable of handling all of this. He always said there must be some higher purpose for the boys and me if he were to go early. I trust completely that is the case. I know that prayers will make that possible.
KEEP BELIEVING
