I have to share a funny story with ya'll about how small the world really is. (Any of you at Willow Creek - have to share this with Dr. H.)
While I was in the middle of pushing out that 10 pound girl of mine - I had my epidural so I felt just fine so I did what came natural - I chatted with my nurse and doctor. My doctor told me she was from a town in Arkansas where I lived when I was in the 3rd and 4th grade. We discovered we went to the same elementary school and were the same age. The more I thought about it later - the more I thought about this picture I had of me and two of my friends from the 4th grade so yesterday I drug it out.
And here is me in the middle with bangs that desperately need to be cut and to my right in the plaid and maroon outfit - is my doctor!!! I also found a little book that my mom kept that has my school picture each year and my mom would list my favorite subjects and my friends that year. I had to do a people search to make sure what her maiden name was - but there in the 4th grade - was listed one of my friends - Dr. Hinton!
We moved to Texas after the 4th grade but 25 years later - here we are - she delivered my miracle baby. Isn't that a STRANGE coincidence???? Have any of you ever had something like that happen?
We are doing good here at home. We are all hanging out in our pj's - sleeping a lot (well Harper is sleeping a lot).

Harper is a CUTIE PATOOTIE!
My little girl HATED tummytime too. But - as much as they hate it - they learn to flip over alot faster to get out from doing it...

What a great story! And she is cute as a bug! I can't believe how much she is changing and how quickly. I swear she gets cuter with each picture. Don't worry Harper, tummy time is hard on us all!
That is pretty crazy! But SO neat!! Looks like you are busy busy but also happy happy!
Just posted on your previous entry - she is going through her first growth spurt - there is another at 6 weeks. Keep the faith and keep nursing! ;)
This is a great post!
Wow, that is such a coincidence. What a blessing!
She is so beautiful.
Wow! Small world indeed! Harper's story just keeps getting better and bigger as the days go on. She's adorable by the way- I love those yummy cheeks!
I love stories like that! Enjoy these days with a newborn...they grow up too fast!

Hi!
I came to your website via Julie H. and will be praying for your daughter. How did you push out a 10pounder???? I had a c-section with a 10 lb 9 oz little sweetie many years ago.
I will be praying for your whole family.
I love all the pictures and was reading for an hour to see everything. I love all the "girly girl" baby clothes!
I live in the DFW area of TX.
Once several years ago my husband had to do an interview at work and it turned out to be the younger brother of a guy I dated in high school. They did catch up on things. It was to strange because we grew up in WI and here this guy was in TX.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
Chery T.
What a neat story. I love the pics of Harper. It is so nice to see her doing all the normal things of a healthy baby!

That is so weird and such a God thing!
I keep saying this in all my comments but I am just so thrilled to see that sweet baby at home.
God Bless You This Week!
Funny!!
I love that picture of her sleeping! Did you make her pose?
God Bless

Very strange and so neat at the same time!
Glad you are all doing well and are safe and comfy back at home. I had a diet vanilla coke at Sonic today and thought of you. I'm usually a diet cherry limeaid girl but the vanilla coke was pretty good!

I feel like I say the same thing, but it is so true, Harper is so cute!! My babies NEVER liked tummy time, ever. Which meant that I didn't either :-)
That is such a great story! I just love when things like that happen. I studied in Spain my junior yr in college. While walking to school for my afternoon classes one day I passed a group of older American women who apparently spoke no Spanish. They were trying to get directions from a sales clerk. I stopped and asked where they were going. It was on my way so I said I would show them. While walking, we chatted. They were from California, I was from Michigan. They had a sister that lived in Michigan. What city was I from? Oh, that is where their sister lived. She taught at Western Schools. That is where I went to school. Turns out they were talking about my third grade teacher. She was to have been on the trip with them but was sick and could not go. It was so fun to meet them on another continent!
Thanks for sharing Harper with us. She is just beautiful and I am so glad that she is home with you now. Oh, and I simply MUST have one of the flower hats for my 6mo old Abigail. Could I get the contact info?campbellsinoz@everestkc.net Thanks and give that sweet baby a kiss from her friends in Kansas!
Sneakymama had a story about a favorite song of her recently departed grandmother, "wings of a snow white dove" and the story talks about receiving His love on the wings of a dove, and being the love on the wings of a dove.....I think you were blessed with His love in two ways....with beautiful Harper and with Dr.H. The two make quite a team. Did you contact the doctor yet with the picture from school?
Great Story!
What a neat story...it was surely meant to be! Harper is looking beautiful as always and that picture of her sleeping is precious!
Hi my name is Charlotte Frazier, I am Justin Hill's aunt, I am soooo glad everything is good. You and your husband have a precious and beautiful little girl. ENJOY.
I love this story! I believe we are all connected somehow throughout life and God places these people in our paths for His purposes. It is a wonderful story but no coincidence, it was meant to be! Harper is a doll!!!! Always!
That's amazing!!! How crazy is that?! Harper is just the sweetest little thing ever!! I may be a total stranger, but I was praying for her!!! Sooooo happy she's home & she looks like she's enjoying herself!!! Bless you and your new sweet family of 3!=) ~heidi
Holly,
I am so happy for you and your family. Harper is just beautiful and it is very evident how much she is loved.
What a wonderful blessing she is to your whole family. I enjoyed your Dr. story..it must be the "six degrees of separation" thing.
I learned about your blog and need for prayers from our ABC 33/40 weatherman here in Birmingham, Al. His name is James Spann and he posted about you on his internet twitter feed.
Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us.
May God continue His blessing to all of you.
ps..I love the precious pictures of Harper.
Okay that is too crazy! I'm glad to hear how good Harper is doing! Ya'll both look beautiful!
I could look at pictures of her all day! She is so cute!!!!!
You don't know me, but I wanted to let you know that the story about your Dr. gave me chills. God works in amazing ways!
Would that small town have been Benton? I remember playing with Dr. Hinton when we were little girls at First Baptist Church-Benton ... she was a sweetie! Wonder if you and I ever crossed paths back then??
What a great story! It seems to be the theme of my day. I have just connected with 2 friends from my childhood...connected through Facebook! The pics of your daughter are delightful!!!!
Make sure she gets tummy time! My niece hated it too, so she was always left on her back. But during her developmental stage, where her head was still soft, it got flattened out. The back portion of her head didn't grow right, so she had to wear a helmet for several months in order to straighten it out. It was a really costly and timely procedure.
How funny is that. I've never had anything like that happen to me. It's neat though. Did you get to show her the picture?
When I had my second Evan, I'd prayed for months for him to be healthy so that he wouldn't be in the NICU like my first. (I've been feelin' ya!) So, the night we went in for induction we checked in at 8:00. We went to room 13. Now, I don't believe in 13 being a bad number so, we were in room 13, Evan was born on the day of our 13th anniversary at 9:31 am. Exactly 13 hours and 31 minutes. HMMM and to beat all when the nurse was leaving we were talking about names, his name was Evan we knew that but he was supposed to have been my girl and his name was going to be Eva Marie (hence Evan). So, the nurse walked out and as she was leaving said, you could name him after me, I have three names I don't remember the first now but her middle names were EVA MARIE... Now, I don't believe in coincidences. I believe God was showing me that he had a plan all along for my babies, even if they were sick or healthy, they were in his care at all times! He was telling me to have more faith in Him, I should have only had to have asked him "one" time to take care of my baby instead of a bazillion times. Best of luck to you guys!
Came across your blog through my niece, Joann Jones, blog. It's like reading a soap opera! At first it seemed so tragic; I was afraid she wasn't going to make it, now it's so HAPPY! And I love all Harper's clothes - didn't know babies could get so decked out! - Elena
