Sweet Harper continues to improve day by day!!! She is now at 39% oxygen!!! And they are taking her Nitric oxide down as well as most of her other drugs. Hopefully by this time next week we will be looking into her eyes and holding her!!!!
Scott went home today to take some stuff and get our mail and get his work computer so he can work from here next week. We are SO thankful because his work has been SO good to him and not only have allowed him to be off as long as he needs to but gave us a generous gift. We are both blessed to work for great companies. He will be back soon. Mom and I went to Wal-Mart this morning to do some shopping. I was in such a hurry to get over here last week that I only brought about 3 outfits with me and we are in store for an ice storm so I thought I could get a few sweaters at Wal-Mart. (They have a new line called Max that is SO CUTE!!!!!)
This sweet couple, Jennifer and Justin, came to see me today and she made me the cutest diaper cake EVER! I love it so much! (They are pictured below at the top)
We didn't expect any visitors today but we still had several - we are so thankful for each of you who came to see us today!
I love this song so much. This is something I listened to over and over and over as I waited for God to give me a baby. Some of you wonder how I can have a positive attitude or joy in the midst of a trial? Listen to this song - God is each of the things listed in this song to me. He is my strong tower, my strength, my fortress, my deliver, my shelter, my very present help in time of need.
Please pray for me - I'm getting a cold and don't feel real well. I'm going to take some medicine and go to bed early. I'm very healthy and never get sick but I'm probably a little rundown from the pace we've been keeping for the last 10 days. I CAN'T be sick - or I can't visit Harper and that would be really hard! Pray I wake up feeling much better so I can whisper in her ear all day tomorrow about how pretty she is!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 290 of 290 Newer› Newest»This morning our entire church held hands and prayed for a family who has triplets in Harper's same situation. As I prayed for that family I couldn't help but feel that we all were praying for Harper too. She was on my mind as I sang to the Lord!

Dearest Kelly,
My name is Katie, I am a mom of two crazy but beautiful children. I do not know you personally but I found your blog through Angie Smith's blog...I've been praying for you, for Harper & for the Smith family as well. Your hearts as mommies have deeply touched me and I have been soooooo blessed to check in on Harper daily. To see your faith in God even during times it would be hard to have faith. I wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts, your heart, your world with people you don't even know. I can hardly express how much it has touched my heart & my life. I have a new appreciation for my kids and for my Heavenly Father. Bless you my dear sister!!! I am praying constantly for your family! Thank you for sharing your story & your daughter.
With all HIS amazing love,

I am so thankful that Haper is doing better- before you know it the oxygen will be off her.
Harper and I share the same birthday so so has to be a fighter.
You never think about what would happen if one of my kids were bborn sick- it thrusts you into an unknown world where answers are sometimes hard to come by- but God is holding you up and you will get through this and be a better person for it- I know I was.

God is so good to take care of all of your needs.
My husband is a pastor. When we feel rundown we take Emergen-C (get it @ Walgreens)with either a bottle of water or I like light cranberry juice with the cranberry flavor. It has really helped so many times. Blessings! Julie (Iowa)

That is great news about Harper! I hope and pray for you that you don't get sick!!
What wonderful news that they're weaning her down on her vent settings... that much closer to getting off that thing!
Still praying that Harper continues to improve & that you are feeling better! My daughter just said a prayer for Miss Harper, too! Out of the mouths of babes!
So glad your baby girl is doing better. We will pray that she continues to get better each day.
As for your cold, try Zicam nose swabs. I tried them the last time I was coming down with a cold and it worked. I also used Cold Eeze lozenges at the same time.
Feel better soon!
Jill
Yay! Love the good news on sweet Harper.
Praying you will regain your strength and health. Bless your heart, I keep thinking of how you need to recover after birth and you are just not getting that opprotunity. I know that God is sustaining you, though, and you are going to be wonderful... especially after you get to hold that precious bundle of sweetness.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring testimony with us. I love to see God at work!
I don't know if you'll get around to reading my comment, but I wanted to suggest that you take Emergen-C... you add it to wated and it builds up your immune system and gives you energy...both of which you need!! You are in our prayers! Remember that Heavenly Father knows you, he knows your needs and he knows your strength. He has ministering Angels comforting you and carrying you!! Take Care!!

Your family is not far from my heart. When I sit down at my computer every morning I pray for Harper and of course check to see how your family is doing. We've never met but you hold a place in my heart and I can't wait to celebrate with you when you get to hold sweet Harper in your arms. Have a wonderful day! Keep posting pictures of your beautiful daughter! ~Corrie in Texas (Isaiah 40:31)
I will be praying hard for you not to have a cold! That would not be good!! Drink OJ a lot and water, and get rest when you can! BTW, your nurse that admitted you goes to my church and is a friend of mine and she said that you guys are very nice and very sweet people. She said that she comes down and checks on Harper, but works nights. She is very glad that Harper is doing so well, she is a miracle!

Harper's coloring looks so great and she is as beautiful as ever! I hope you are feeling better this morning. That is one of my favorite songs! We sing it at church pretty often and it makes me cry almost every time. Still praying daily for you, Scott, Harper and your families. I have seen Scott's office when we were at Joshs cousin's office before! His cousin in the mayor of Bentonville, so we go downtown every once in a while to see him.
Just in case you had not heard, Tri Chi got 24 girls on Saturday! Thought you might like to know!
Hi Kelly....
Praise God for the wonderful reports I have been reading over the weekend. I didn't have time to post, just enough time to check in & scan the updates. God is Good! I am so happy Baby Harper is improving. We continue to pray for her healing, and for all babies in NICUs.
We will also be remembering you that you won't be getting sick. So, rest when you can and take care of yourself!
BTW, 'Made Me Glad' is one of my all time favorite songs. I listened to it a lot before & during my mom's illness, and even more now since she passed on. It reminds me of how HE is ALWAYS there, through the good & bad....
It amazes me that you are such a rock! You are a true testament to faith and God's grace!
Praying God continues to heal sweet Harper, and that He heals her sweet Momma as well...
Blessings,
kendra

Kelly,
I found your blog through a friend with whom I used to go to church. I just wanted to encourage you that God does indeed have wonderful plans for Harper.
My firstborn was 34 weeks old at delivery, and he was on a ventilator for 6 days and in the NICU for 13 days. You'd never know it now! He is a strong, energetic and funny four year old. God has used that tough beginning to yield astounding amounts of good. He is faithful!
Blessings on you, Harper, and your family. Thank you for your testimony.

Isn't God's peace wonderful! My oldest(who is now 7) had open heart surgery at 7 months. I remember being so scared but all I could do is give him to God. The peace that overcame me during that time was beautiful. God is so Good and Amazing! You are in my prayers and Harper is lovely! You can see God's fingerprints in her!
Had no idea that Scott worked for RF! They are working on one of my client sites right now- and they do such great work.
I've posted your blog to my website- www.fortsmithmoms.com and requested all our moms to be in prayer for you and your family. We also posted the link for Brayden. I was suprised to find you on Angie's site- suprised that you are also an Arkansas momma! Prayers and love-
Catherine
Look at those beautiful eyes!!!!
I have been following your blog since you gave birth to amazing little Harper! Your experience has really hit close to home. Our daughter is 5 months and was born with a heart defect that will soon require open heart surgery. You are a very strong person and I admire that. Since giving birth to my daughter and going through what we have I have turned to God like I never have before. This has really openned my eyes, and to read your blog inspires me even more. I love the video you posted. I have my ups and downs but it really lifted me up today and things are looking brighter. My daughter was scheduled for surgery tomorrow, but since she is doing so well they are going to reschedule her for April or May. GOD IS GOOD! Harper is BEAUTIFUL and I am so glad to hear that she is doing so well! I am addicted to her wonderful updates. She truley amazes me with her strength! Sending BIG prayers from Texas.
