O HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR THE PICC LINE.........................Our prayers were answered above and beyond once again. Harper doesn't even need a PICC line!!!!! We got here this morning and the doctor had to do one test on her and then he said we could take her completely off the respirator and start feeding today!!!!! PRAISE MY JESUS!!!! The nurses were cheering - I was crying - it was just a great day! We didn't expect this for several more days!

(Get ready for a long stream of pictures from our wonderful day!)

Could I smile ANY bigger?????
They gave her a little dog that looked like Dawson and she loved it!
Daddy's little girl
They warned us she might not want to eat. Bigger babies who have been through what she has been through normally don't take to eating. NOT our girl - she's a Stamps. She gulped down her first bottle and was looking for more. So we gave her a 2nd one and that was gone in minutes!
We had a fan club! Our nurses are SO great! I'm going to miss them when we leave.
Harper just STARED at her daddy.
Daddy fed bottle #2
Somebody loves her flower head band
She's already such a happy, content baby.
I've changed a few diapers today
We've got a good eater on our hands!

We call her our "chunky monkey" and we just ADORE her!
She had her 2nd feeding at 5 and we are waiting to feed her again at 8. Tomorrow we start nursing!!!!

I prayed for this child and God has given me what I asked of Him
I Samuel 1:27

We recieved so many cards and wonderful packages and gifts today. If you have sent us something to the hospital - we are getting it! I'm working on thank yous but I want you to know we are SO appreciative of every thought and gift! The love we have been shown by the body of Christ is overwhelming!!!

P.S. I just wanted to say that I have not forgotten the prayer blog. I have been very distracted the last two weeks but I will begin updating again soon. Most likely when I get home - which we are thinking could possibly be the FIRST HALF of next week (if things continue so well!) Oh we can't wait to take Harper home!!!!!!!

We're thrilled over here in Mansfield, Texas. My kids enjoy getting the daily updates on Harper. She is a household name now. We ooh and ahh over her. I couldn't stop looking at her and just rejoicing with you. She is amazingly sweet. The one where you are feeding her and she is looking straight ahead and her face fills up the frame...that one is my favorite. So, so cute. Lots of love~

I've been reading & praying, I've never posted before, but every nite, when we say our prayers, we ALWAYS pray for Harper & all the other beautiful babies in the NICU. My 4 yr old daughter loves prayer time & makes sure I don't forget anyone!
We prayed she'd be able to get the PICC line & you've gotten something better!! God IS amazing!
When I saw this post today, I cried & thanked God for healing Harper so quickly.
Daughters are amazing and I thank God for mine every day.
Your daughter is beautiful & her face is so sweet in the picture w/her pretty flower headband.
Your family is always in our prayers...

Oh what a beautful child! Okay, so I left in a rush yesterday without my laptop and didn't have time to come back by my office. I was so upset because I didn't get to check for new updates and when I got to work this morning I got to see you guys holding your baby!!!!!!!! The day we have all been praying for!!!! Praise to our wonderful Heavenly Father! SCOTT and KELLY--she is absolutely gorgeous...100% ADORABLE! I know you can't wait to get home and have some quiet moments at home with your new family, but don't be surprised if I am sitting in your driveway with my arms out to hold her. I called Mario at work and made him pull the pictures up...he said, "Oh my goodness, When can we go see her?!!" I can not tell you how happy I am but I am about to bust at the seams! And I just love the way she is looking at you guys! Bless her heart, her head might get sore form all the change of head gear in a day...headbands, to bows, to hats, back to bows....HA!!! Well, she is just darling and the two of you look like pros holding her! We love ya'll!

Kelly,

God is so good..what a wonderful blessing Harper will be to you and your family for the rest of your days..

I want to say, as a former NICU nurse at UCSF..GOOD FOR YOU..for keeping up your milk supply and doing the VERY BEST thing you can and will continue to do for that sweet baby. I know it is not always possible for moms with babies in the NICU to nurse, pump etc..but I can say that babies who have a rough start..need it more than ever...so, I know, I have seen it first hand..you have done something that was not easy..preparing to feed a baby that you were not even allowed to hold for a while, but now giving her her momma's milk is going to reduce so many issues that could come up..so pat yourself on the back, you have done a wonderful thing for your baby!!

Let me know if you need some support - I would be happy to help! Also, if you do need help, find out if they have an IBCLC on staff at the hospital - those letters are important! Not just a Lactation Consultant, but a board certified one.

I would like to send a gift, but I suspect that since you may be going home next week, it won't arrive till after you have left. Do you have plans to set up a PO Box for gifts after you are home?

Hi Kelly, I tried to post a comment a little while ago but it didn't work. Since my girls are asleep I decided to sit down and do my Bible reading. I am starting a study in Jeremiah and this verse made me think of beautiful little Harper. Especially the wording in my New Living Translation Bible. Jeremiah 1:5-6 "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world." "O Sovereign Lord," I said, "I can't speak for you! I'm too young!"

I love that God used your beautiful baby Harper to minister to so many of us.

I so much more appreciate the healthy children that God gave me and my husband. Our youngest is just not quite 4 months and she weighed the same as Harper when she was born.

We've been praying for Harper too.

I have to tell you how much reading Harper's story has renewed my faith. We lost a baby in October after two years of infertility. I wasn't so sure of my faith and felt like my prayers weren't being answered.Being able to read about Harper and seeing the prayers answered has helped me to heal.

I'm so excited for your update. She is an absolute doll and I know your ready to take her home and snuggle all day!

Kelly,

I am smiling from ear to ear! What wonderful news! It is so great to see Harper's sweet eyes and beautiful smile! I have been following your blog since recently finding it and have been sharing your story with others so they may keep you in their prayers, too. When I chat with my mom, I am either saying "Oh, guess what...Harper is much better today!", or she is asking if I have already seen an update for the day. It is so wonderful to see so many blessings in one post! Harper has certainly been in God's hands and continues to be! What a beautiful MIRACLE!! You all are in our hearts and prayers each day!

And, you definitely receive the "Beautiful Momma" award! You are GLOWING!! :)

I only started reading your blog the day you posted about her being sent to the NICU, but felt your precious daughter tug at my heart every time I looked into the eyes of my 7 month old. With each prayer, and each update of her getting better and better, the Lord kept bringing to mind Luke 17:19: "Rise and go. Your faith has made you well." Only Harper will speak that of you - your faith has made her well. What a testimony you have been and will continue to be. God bless and enjoy that gorgeous baby girl of yours!

Being a Mom to an almost 17 month old little boy, I don't believe there is anything more beautiful than a Mother holding her baby. I have been following Harper's progress on here, and praying for you all every chance I get. I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions you all have been on, but your Faith in God has definitly shown through. You are an amazing woman and such an inspiration for those of us "trying to be a more Godly Mommy"! Thank you for sharing your story each day with us! God Bless you and your new beautiful family!

I remember feeding my little Ethan those teeny bottles in the NICU. I had to get him to eat 2 oz in 30 minutes. I remember just praying, please let him eat so they can get this ugly PICC line out of his arm. It looked like it was hurting him so bad the way they had it all taped up around his arm so it wouldn't move. I know your thankful for not having the PICC line and trust me I know what that's like. What a happy day for you!! I remember that first feeding I was so excited! We keep praying here!!

WOW!!! What a blessing! I've been praying for you and thinking of you all constantly since I found your blog a couple of days after Harper was born. I had to comment because I also have a precious baby girl (who just turned 1!) and I also call her "chunky monkey"--nothing beats those chubby cheeks!! I also have two boys, who I absolutely adore, but nothing compares to having a baby girl. Enjoy every second with precious Harper! Best wishes from IL.
