O HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR THE PICC LINE.........................Our prayers were answered above and beyond once again. Harper doesn't even need a PICC line!!!!! We got here this morning and the doctor had to do one test on her and then he said we could take her completely off the respirator and start feeding today!!!!! PRAISE MY JESUS!!!! The nurses were cheering - I was crying - it was just a great day! We didn't expect this for several more days!

(Get ready for a long stream of pictures from our wonderful day!)

Could I smile ANY bigger?????
They gave her a little dog that looked like Dawson and she loved it!
Daddy's little girl
They warned us she might not want to eat. Bigger babies who have been through what she has been through normally don't take to eating. NOT our girl - she's a Stamps. She gulped down her first bottle and was looking for more. So we gave her a 2nd one and that was gone in minutes!
We had a fan club! Our nurses are SO great! I'm going to miss them when we leave.
Harper just STARED at her daddy.
Daddy fed bottle #2
Somebody loves her flower head band
She's already such a happy, content baby.
I've changed a few diapers today
We've got a good eater on our hands!

We call her our "chunky monkey" and we just ADORE her!
She had her 2nd feeding at 5 and we are waiting to feed her again at 8. Tomorrow we start nursing!!!!

I prayed for this child and God has given me what I asked of Him
I Samuel 1:27

We recieved so many cards and wonderful packages and gifts today. If you have sent us something to the hospital - we are getting it! I'm working on thank yous but I want you to know we are SO appreciative of every thought and gift! The love we have been shown by the body of Christ is overwhelming!!!

P.S. I just wanted to say that I have not forgotten the prayer blog. I have been very distracted the last two weeks but I will begin updating again soon. Most likely when I get home - which we are thinking could possibly be the FIRST HALF of next week (if things continue so well!) Oh we can't wait to take Harper home!!!!!!!

She is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! Oh she is just beautiful!! Can't wait to hear how nursing goes! Hang in there, you are both lea and ask for help, don't feel awkward if you are having problems! I nursed all 3 of mine, and my 2 girls learned how to latch on wrong and I had to reteach them how to nurse after they were a month old, but I was determined and did it, I had great lactation consultants. It hurts, for the first 2 weeks, they will tell you it doesn't but it did for me!! Good Luck and we will continue praying for a quick release and safe travels home!!

Love those sweet chapped cheeks! Hopefully the tape evidence will go away soon and isn't painful.

She is so beautiful, I am so glad she is doing so much better. God has great things planned for her!

Hi Kelly. I have been following your blog for a while now and I have just been so touched by your faithfulness through all of this. I found your blog about a year ago and would check in frequently. When I read that you were pregnant, I kept checking back in to see how you were doing. I kept thinking 'There is no one who deserves a baby more' so the day you were induced, I was constantly checking in to see how it was going. When I read the first post after Harper was born, my heart just sank. I immediately began praying and I have been ever since. I have learned more about prayer in the past two weeks through you than I have in all my 12 years of being a Christian. I have never prayed so hard for anyone, and I kept thinking 'This is definitely God working b/c I don't even know this person!' :) I mentioned your story to two of my friends, and they had also read about Harper through blogs that they read! It has just been so amazing to see God's hand in all of this. Harper is beautiful and I think she is such a blessed little girl to have you and Scott as parents. Thank you for sharing your life and your faith with all of us!
p.s. My 3 yr-old little girl, Hadley, and I were saying a prayer for Harper the other day and as we said 'Amen' she assured me that 'God and Jesus will make her all better!' I thought that was so cute and so true.

Kelly, sweetheart....you know that your FBC friends have been PRAYING for a miracle long before we knew Harper was a thought. The wonderful thing is that our precious Lord knew the "reality" of what was to come.

Who knew that your easy pregnancy would lead to something so scary after birth?? He knew. Make no mistake...He knew...and the events that transpire each day we see the miracle unfold, and His promises are new every second of each day!!

I am so very proud of you and Scott, and how you have ENCOURAGED this blogland by carrying us with you through this trial. The trial is almost OVER and the fun is about to begin!! Let the "BOWS" begin!!! :) I'm so glad that outside of blogland, I consider you a friend, and a WONDERFUL singing mate in choir!!! Kelly,

What a beautiful sight. I know your heart was about to burst to hold that precious girl! And she is gorgeous alright! I love those ruddy cheeks! What a strong girl you have there--momma you did such a good job growing her!!
I pray that nursing will go well! It is such an amazing experience--nothing more natural in the world. It makes you feel so connected although it can be a bit sore at the beginning so be prepared.
Kelly, thank you so much for continuing to share this story. It is like a ray of light for me. I was just mentioning to me husband that I can hardly watch the news now for all of the terrible stories about murders, and child abuse and other things that seem to weigh so heavily on me. I truly find that it begins to affect me negatively. But coming here, and seeing this real life miracle and the testament of your never-ceasing love and faith. Well, it is just good for the soul.
Thank you again.

Hey, I am hosting a giveaway on my blog for a minky security blanket, that is MONOGRAMMED. (I know how much you like these things;))

These are really one of a kind as they have little beanies on them, so they are great for nursing covers that don't fall off, or for holding a binky in while driving.

I thought you might want to look at it. They are so flippin cute.

http://theflockofbirds.blogspot.com/2009/01/bloggy-giveaway.html

I didn't want to post about it before, because I know how stressful things are, but now that Harper is doing so well, and you can be a bit more relaxed, I thought maybe you would be interested.

Rhett sends Harper lots and lots of ((HUGS))

Oh my goodness! What a beautiful, sweet little girl. I came across your blog from my daughters blog, who has a handsome, sweet little boy. Andrew Harrison Horn is his name. You have so many messages I wasn't going to post because know you can't read them all. But, my grandson was born two months early and in the NICU. The picture of you feeding Harper reminded me so much of my daughter feeding our sweet baby. It just makes me cry and praise God for these miracles we have witnessed. I know you can't wait to get that little girl home Congratulations!!!

Praise my Jesus is right! These dear people are total strangers to me, other than being brothers and sisters in Christ, but I cried getting to see them hold their baby for the first time. NICUs can be scary places and I am glad to be able to pass along the prayers that my family got when my nieces were there to another famly.

Thank you Father God! I am so thankful and joyful and grinning with tears. I'm so pleased to see her accessorizing with bows, stuffed animals and monogrammed blankets. That is what separates us from the animals, you know.

Had to laugh at the number of comments today. Doubt if you'll even see this in the midst of all of them but oh my! These are THE most amazing photos! Can't even put into words how thrilled I am for your family!!!!!!!!!
Stopping by to let you know I'm still here praying!
Psalms 27:7-9 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
