O HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR THE PICC LINE.........................Our prayers were answered above and beyond once again. Harper doesn't even need a PICC line!!!!! We got here this morning and the doctor had to do one test on her and then he said we could take her completely off the respirator and start feeding today!!!!! PRAISE MY JESUS!!!! The nurses were cheering - I was crying - it was just a great day! We didn't expect this for several more days!

(Get ready for a long stream of pictures from our wonderful day!)

Could I smile ANY bigger?????
They gave her a little dog that looked like Dawson and she loved it!
Daddy's little girl
They warned us she might not want to eat. Bigger babies who have been through what she has been through normally don't take to eating. NOT our girl - she's a Stamps. She gulped down her first bottle and was looking for more. So we gave her a 2nd one and that was gone in minutes!
We had a fan club! Our nurses are SO great! I'm going to miss them when we leave.
Harper just STARED at her daddy.
Daddy fed bottle #2
Somebody loves her flower head band
She's already such a happy, content baby.
I've changed a few diapers today
We've got a good eater on our hands!

We call her our "chunky monkey" and we just ADORE her!
She had her 2nd feeding at 5 and we are waiting to feed her again at 8. Tomorrow we start nursing!!!!

I prayed for this child and God has given me what I asked of Him
I Samuel 1:27

We recieved so many cards and wonderful packages and gifts today. If you have sent us something to the hospital - we are getting it! I'm working on thank yous but I want you to know we are SO appreciative of every thought and gift! The love we have been shown by the body of Christ is overwhelming!!!

P.S. I just wanted to say that I have not forgotten the prayer blog. I have been very distracted the last two weeks but I will begin updating again soon. Most likely when I get home - which we are thinking could possibly be the FIRST HALF of next week (if things continue so well!) Oh we can't wait to take Harper home!!!!!!!

Kelly,
I discovered your blog about the day Harper was born. It's been so amazing to see God taking care of her! I am so happy that you could hold and feed her today!!!

I am due with my 2nd baby in a week. I suppose most moms-to-be sometimes wonder "What if something goes wrong when my baby is born????"--usually I try to ignore thoughts like that. But I have been so inspired by your trust in God through Harper's difficulties, that it's really challenged me to confront my fears of what might or could happen (instead of ignoring them, and just focus on trusting God no matter what. So thank you for helping me see the importance of this before my babe makes it's appearance!

Praying for your little family, and praising God for the miracles He's worked in your lives,
Miriam

1. I cried as I shared your joy!
2. Made me think of this verse from one of my favorite hymns:
"How sweet to hold a newborn baby, and feel the pride and joy [she] gives; but greater still the calm assurance: this child can face uncertain days because He lives!!!" Well, the hymnbook has a period, but how can one sing that without at least two exclamation points?!

I saw an amazing sight today..YOU holding Harper for the first time and feeding her a bottle. No not a crazy stalker girl...My brother-in-law was having emergency surgery there and I showed up at about 5pm to wait with my sister and told her I had to go up to EOPC for a minute. I thought I would never find Harper with all those babies, parents, staff and those window blinds but I saw you grinning ear to ear with tears in your eyes and your husband taking a billion pics with that oh so gigantic camera that I am jealous of now! SERIOUSLY your camera is HUGE! I was going to wave to one of the nurses but it was your very long awaited moment that I dared not disturb. You look so happy and I was crying. My sister thought I was nuts until I told her the story then she cried too realizing it was the first time you held your precious baby girl THEN they handed you a bottle and we both just wept like babies ourselves. She had to literally pull me away from the window only to go wait in the surgical waiting room for an hour and a half. I wanted to come meet you both but I knew you were loving your precious time and I knew as soon as I left they would call my sister back. I am so happy for your family and her recovery! I will still be praying for you and I want you to know she is absolutely gorgeous! I love the pics with her flower! headband...too cute!

I just recently found your blog. I've been keeping up and praying like crazy ever since. I am so excited for you, your hubby and for Harper! My almost 2yo spent 2w in the NICU and I still remember the joy over those first bottles and that first nursing session. Congrats Mommy! And good luck!

Kelly,

It truly made my day to check your blog and see this wonderful news! I have prayed so hard since the day I checked your blog and saw the message that Harper was having problems breathing.

I have had many prayers answered before, but this is one that I will always remember. God's blessings are so much more than we could ever imagine, and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for the Stamps family!

When I opened your blog tonight I hollered out loud when I saw you holding her. How amazing? I'm sure you were so overwhelmed with joy! She is a beautiful baby and definitely one of God's miracles. I keep praying for you guys!

My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for the past 3 years and we are adopting a baby. We are super excited. Her due date is tomorrow. The verse from 1 Samuel is one that I absolutely love because I know that God has sent this child to us. God is so good!

Enjoy Baby Harper and give her lots of hugs and kisses!!!

Oh PRAISE GOD! Those are the pictures I've been waiting for -- I don't think you guys could look any happier or more proud. What a red letter day! Good luck as you begin nursing. I'm sure you've got a good support system there, but as a mom who nursed 2 children for 16+ months each, I still have to give you this advice: stick with it even through the painful first week. After a week, it won't hurt anymore. And go buy some Gerber Soothies -- they make everything all better during that first week! :) Trust me on this. :) Prayers for many more days like this and a quick return to home for your family.

Oh Kelly!!!

Look at you all! And look at God. I am in tears.
I stand in awe of the miracles that He continues to pour out into your life. You are a blessed woman Kelly. You are called and chosen. Anointed and appointed for such a time as this. And so is your precious gift Harper Brown. She is absolutely beautiful and I am praising His name for this precious post. To see you sitting there with Harper in your arms is an answer to many, many prayers. We see the hope of glory when we look at you and your very special family.

We are continuing to pray for Harper to heal completely whole in every way in the name of Jesus.

May you feel His love for you when you hold that absolutely BEAUTIFUL baby in your arms tonight.

We are sending something to you soon!!!!

Still Praying in CT.

Big Hug
