UPDATE:
Our wonderful doctor just came out and talked to us and talked to us about her oxygen going down. He said she has to get to 40% before they could start taking her nitrate down (but he acted like that could happen in the next few days) and he said then they could possibly start waking her up. I may get to see my baby's eyes VERY soon!!!!!!! I can't wait for the day she looks at me and Scott and knows we are her parents!!!
This has been such a wonderful day and it's not even noon!!! :-) Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you for praying for Harper!
I will be honest - I had a hard day yesterday. I think all the time in the hospital had started to catch up with me and looking at my baby still on 100% oxygen was really scaring me. I worried she would never breathe on her own. I worried we would never take her home. It could be the hormones - but I just was very very sad yesterday even though I've tried so hard to be positive. I normally always see the glass half full and the silver lining in everything.
We were so glad when we left last night and Harper was at 95% oxygen. I prayed all night long as often as I could that when we got to the hospital this morning - she would still be at 95% but deep in my heart I worried that she wouldn't be.
God knows just when we need a little encouragment. We got here this morning and she was at 80% oxygen!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. (I think it was the bow that made her feel pretty and she wanted to try harder to get home so she could put on some dresses)Ha! A few minutes ago - they had her at 77%. I can't even begin to tell you how huge and amazing that is to us. To God be the Glory Great things He has done!!!!
We know it could still be a long road but we are so thankful for the blessings of today! Thank you for your prayers - we are in gratitude to you forever!!!! We love all of you SOOOOOO much - we will meet you and thank you in heaven if we don't get to here!!!!
P.S. If you are worried about Dawson - you can read here and see he is JUST fine. I don't think he'll want to come back and live with us. (Especially when he finds out he has to share his home with a spoiled baby girl).

You and I have never met but I wanted to let you, your husband nd Harper know that you have been in prayers and you are all amazing. Harper is a beautiful little girl. I have two little boys and being a mother is the greatest gift God has ever given me. You all are in my prayers.
More people than you even know are praying for Harper, Scott and you. I have come to know you through your blog, which I linked to via Jill's blog (Eli's mom--we are family friends)...and I have to say, I am amazed at how wonderful you OBU girls are, how in everyday life you are seeking God's face. It's tough in the tough times to remain up all the times but this is when God will cradle you and let you rest and regroup. Harper is beautiful. That's really an understatement...she's very precious indeed.

Hooray! God really does answer prayers. And, of course, I will keep praying!
YAY!!! That's awesome! I hope you get to see her beautiful eyes soon :o)
Wonderful news! Praise the Lord. He is so good!
Please take care of yourself. People will understand if you need time alone to rest, pray, or just be quiet for while. You need that.
I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
I loved your Dad's post about Dawson.

Praise the Lord!!!!! I got chills reading that-I am so happy for you all. Grow strong, baby girl!
Praise God!! What good news. Still praying for Harper here in Florida.
Isn't in unreal how satan attacks with discouragement right before God is about to do something MIGHTY?!
Praise God for what He has done! I was specifically praying last night that Harper's levels would be taken down to 80% ... and just keep going down from there. God is SO good! I have also been praying that Harper wouldn't have to do ECMO and am trusting God for this. I will continue to lift you, your family, and Harper up in prayer!
What a wonderful day!
I am so happy to read how well Harper is doing! I will keep her in prayer and keep checking in to see how she is. She is such a beautiful baby!
I am so very happy for y'all! That is wonderful news! I will continue to pray for Harper and God's speed! Thank you Jesus! Much love form Waco, TX...
Praise our wonderful Heavenly Father! That is such amazing news - thankyou so much for keeping us all up to date,
I am praying for you and Harper and for the wisdom for the doctors and nurses. I have been there, with a critically ill baby. Take care of yourself--it is hard. It is hard to wake yourself up to pump in the middle of the night when you don't have a baby to snuggle. It is hard to have others be the primary caregivers. God carried me and my family through it all. I kept a gratitude journal through the pregnancy (we discovered at 20 weeks pregnant that Mason had a rare heart defect) and through those challenging days and it was transforming--to focus on small positives. Eight years later I still find comfort rereading those little things that I found to be grateful for. god is holding you all--lean into him for strength and comfort!
I am so glad that little Harper is doing better and I pray that God will continue to heal your beautiful daughter.
Kellly,
That is such GREAT news!!!!! We are praying and will continue to pray.

Kelly, your spirit is a bright light even through a blog. I am blessed to have the honor of reading it and praying for your sweet baby girl. harper stays in my thoughts even though I have never met her.
Although I live in Illinois I am a Razorback through and through and we Razor girls are tough. Have faith that soon you will be hearing a delicate little "WOO PIG!" ring out all over your house.
I trust in a fabulous God that laughs in the joy of his children, and He surely wants to not only laugh, but dance with you as you get to see your daughter's eyes looking at her Mommy and Daddy.
My prayers continue for you, Harper, and all involved in this time of your lives.
I am following you on twitter and have set my notices to ring through to my cell. At any time if you need extra prayer, twitter away.
God loves you!
that is awesome! Praise the Lord!!
Great news! God is good!!
While I don't know what its like to have a little baby is the hospital sick, I do know that after having a baby your hormones are so out of wack! I had sad days and my girls were both normal and healthy. So I would say its MORE than NORMAL to be sad. If anything is healthy. Hang in there girl. We are praying for you and your family and of course the other babies and doctors/nurses!!
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
I am praying that you will be able to fully enjoy your beautiful daughter VERY soon!!
Thank you Jesus for these improvements, they are not lost on us!!! We know You are able to do more than we can even imagine...do it Lord! For Your glory and Your fame!! In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
Little steps. Little steps are good. Praise God!!
CONGRATS!!!! Give that girl a dress and maybe she'll be down to 40% tomorrow. She just needed a little "feel good" for herself (as if the entire blog world wasn't enough attention!). Sorry to hear that you were having a bad day, but you are not alone. We are all hoping and praying for you, your family and your beautiful Harper.
Great news, I hope things keep improving!

Praying for you DAILY!

Praise God! I have been praying so hard for you and little Harper. If I were her I would want to go home fast so I could wear all her cute dresses. I was telling my neighbor that by seeing all your monogram items that you have created a monster because now I want to monogram everything for my little girl Ava due in March. Girl, I do believe that if we lived in the same town we would be the very best of friends. ;-)
I will keep praying....WOW, GOD is so AWESOME!
Praise Him ,Praise Him,
All the little children,
GOD is LOVE, GOD is LOVE !!!
We are HIS little chilren and we are Praising Him for every small miracle that HE allows to happen in Harper.

She's rockin and rollin! So happy for her and you guys!!!

I'm glad you posted about Dawson because I've been a little worried about that boy. Didn't want him to realize that he was a dog in all of this. That would be just too devastating for him!
drove by st. francis today in the mist of running errands and said another prayer for little Harper. So so glad to hear the good news!!! We will continue praying.

That is the best news!!!
I put Harper on the prayer list at my Bible study last night. My friend Jill prayed for her and I could feel the Holy Spirit move. It was amazing and such a comfort.
I also have to agree with you, the bow might have had an impact!
Wonderful News!!! I am so excited for you! I know that she will continue to get better. You will still be in my prayers!!
Praise God! What a blessing! Besides the prayers, it had to be the bow :). I always put bows on my little girl (and now do also on her baby sister). My husband always laughed and we called them the "Power Bow!" Harper is just beautiful!

The bow is precious :)
you are doing AMAZING! It's the hormones. Day 5 is always rough no matter what the circumstances are. KEEP DOING GREAT.
our prayers are with you.
Dear Kelly,
I seriously don't know how you do it. My daughter is 3 and a half, and I don't know that I could handle all that you and your husband have.
You truly are a courageous women, and for that I admire you!
I want to say so many things to you, but I know there is limited space here on this blog, so for now I will say God bless Harper, and her family, for our Lord is a gracious and loving God.
I was so relieved to hear the GREAT news. Hang in there!!!!!!
God Bless
AND you look AMAZING Kelly!!!!
Still Praying
Debbie
What wonderful news!! I think that with the hormones combined with everything going on you are doing fantastic!! Tears for no reason are normal for me after childbirth but you have real reasons to be SO emotional! So happy to hear Harper is doing so well. I was thinking that maybe that little girl just needs to see a picture of her cute room and I'm sure overflowing closet and she'll be off the oxygen in no time! What girl wouldn't want to hurry home to all that fun and frills?
Continuing to pray for you baby girl!
Glad to hear about the improvement in Harper's condition! Slowly but surely she will come out of this, and you will be so excited to take her home and dress her up to your heart's content!
Still praying that she's improving so you can take her home!
Kelly,
I came across your blog and just want you to know that I am lifting up Harper, you and your husband to the Lord.
We are Hog fans as well.
Take care,
I'll be watching your blog for good news.
Tasha
Praying for you and Harper. Remember that a lot of the next couple months is hormones! Even for people who have no "extra" challenges with their new baby. God is strong enough, though. Hold on tight.
She is just a FABULOUS little girl!! She is definitely wanting to get out of that cribby thing she is in and get home to her comfy cozy room with all the frills that is waiting for. GO HARPER!!! God is on her side!!!!
Praying for your beautiful baby girl! So excited about the good news today! :-)
Love from KY!
Brittany
praising the lord with you!
Your family is still in our prayers and will be for a long time. We are so happy to read your post today!
She is so precious!
You and your family have been in our prayers. We went through the same situation 25 years ago with our son who is now a handsome, intelligent, kind, compassionate man who we are so glad to call our son. I am looking forward to watching your blog to see beautiful photos of Harper in all her awesome monogrammed outfits!
Oh Praise the Lord, Kelly! I just got "God bumps" as I read that Harper was on 80% oxygen when you arrived at the hospital this morning! And to hear that she was down to 77% --what an awesome answer to prayer!
I hope that very soon you will see that beautiful baby girl's beautiful eyes!
I read your dad's post about Dawson and it looks like he is in "high cotton"! I know it is a relief to you to know that your "first baby" is being very well taken care of.
Thank you again for this amazing update! You just made my day!
Our God is an awesome God!!!!
Kelly, I have tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms. Praise the Lord! What awesome news! It has been an honor to join with the Body and lift you all up in prayer. I can't wait to see a picture of Harper staring up into her mom and dad's eyes. We know it's not over though and we will continue to pray.
Great news!!

My wife and I are expecting on March 24th and I can't imagine what you are going through. May God strengthen you and guide you and bless you with you the healing of your darling little girl.

I just happened to stumble upon your blog but want to let you know your family & especially Harper is in my thoughts and prayers!
I have read about your story on several blogs today. I am glad Harper is doing better and will put you all on my prayer list.
I am so excited for ya'll!!! God is so GOOD. Just stay positive and take it one day at a time and before you know it she will be at home wearing all of those big, beautiful bows that you have waiting for her. I know that God is giving ya'll big hugs everyday.

Great news Kelly. You don't know me but I was drawn to your blog through a prayer request site. I had a baby who was on 100% oxygen and I was told all we could do was pray, as the machines could do no more. We prayed and the next day he was on 50%, 40%, etc. Just wanted to encourage you as we just celebrated his 21st birthday in November.
We will be keeping your sweet family in our prayers at my Church.
Oh Kelly!! That is so exciting!! Go Harper!! We are still praying hard!!
Joining with you in prayer for Harper!
Blessings,
Lea
This is WONDERFUL news...I know you probably can't quit smiling right now!! I pray that Harper keeps making progress and she can look at you with her sweet little eyes very soon! What a great day! :)
Sweetie, this is such great news! I wish I could have warned you that all momma's hormone levels make a big change around day 5. Take care of yourself, and allow others to pamper you too! Praising God with you, MB
God is amazing and he is doing amazing things through little Harper!!! YAY!!! I'm still praying nonstop til that little girl is home!
I'm so happy for you and your family and looking forward to hearing the countdown continue on!
Thank you, Lord!
I'm still praying for your beautiful girl. Can't wait until she can open her eyes!
I'm also praying for you and your husband. I'm especially concerned about you since you've been through so much physically, too. I think I read that your mom is there. These are times that a girl needs her mom.
What a beautiful example of faithfulness you are...
Dear Kelly and Scott
I am a reader of Angie's Blog and I have been praying and visiting your blog to read about your precious baby girl. I have been praying and will continue to pray. I am soooo happy for your good news.
Sue
Oh, Kelly - that is wonderful news about Harper's oxygen levels! So glad, too, that you feel brighter today.
It is so sweet of you to say about thanking people in heaven for praying for Harper. Maybe there will be some people in heaven thanking YOU and your family, because it was Harper's illness that brought them to the Lord!!
Continuing to pray for Harper. There is a closet full of fashion screaming to be tried on by her!!

I have a two month old baby boy and each time I got up last night to feed him, I petitioned the Lord for Harper. I'm so happy to see today that they have been able to successfully decrease her oxygen. Praise God! I will continue to pray and pray for your beautiful baby girl. I just know the Lord is going to do a great work in little Harper and she'll be home with you soon. Your courage through all this has been a great inspiration to me. Thank you.
I've been following your blog for awhile now but just now felt compelled to comment.
How wonderful your news today! God is so good! Isn't He? Our continued prayers with you and your family.

That is such wonderful news! Continuing to pray!!
We check in all the time to hear any news about your precious Harper. This morning at our Ladies Bible Study I asked for prayers for Harper. It's just a few more loving hearts willing to pray for your angel.
I can't say how many times I think of your Harper during the day because I say her name about a million times when I talk to my busy 18 month old, Harper. I pray all day long for complete healing. I believe!
I even have my husband checking in! It is amazing what the blog network can do. I pray the news gets better and better every day!

Awesome news! Praise God for healing!
I pray that the 40% will come very, very soon!!
Blessings!
Kelly, I am so glad you had a good morning, and I only hope it got better and better!
Please know you have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly since little Harper was born!
I have been reminded over and over how we serve a GOD of miracles!!
still thinking of you all and sending up prayers for your baby girl! what a wonderful story she will one day hear of all the love for her before her eyes were even opened...isn't that the love of God...he loves us before we ever even know he's there!
Yea Rah Harper! Yea Rah God!
I love the cute little bow, but you're right- those big ones are downright adorable! My baby girl is known as the "flower child" because she wears the ones with flowers a lot! In fact, they remember her in the church nursery, a rather large church, by her headbands! What fun...and I can't wait for you to get to experience it! Looking forward to pictures of Harpers eyes..I know that will be a beautiful moment!
Continuing to pray! God is amazing and he is answering prayer!
I am crying as I type this post I remember what you are feeling. I had a baby born with a pneumothorax in each lung (a hole) and needed oxygen and everything your little Harper is on. He also was taken to another hospital an hour and a half away for a whole month. His holes did seal up and he is 7 years old now and just has a little touch of asthma, he takes one medication a day for it. I tell you that so you can have HOPE, HOPE that my God healed my son and that my God will heal your
little girl too. Hang in there, I was so glad you got some good news today. Mommas need that especially with the hormones getting back to normal. I cried for 6 or 7 days it seemed like. I hope you can get some rest so your body can heal and you can take care of little Harper.Just know that I am a mother in Indiana who understands personally what you are going through and praying like crazy for your daughter and you and your husband. Hang in there.
Praising God and continuing to pray. Be gentle with yourself and try to get some rest. I imagine it's hard to pull yourself away, but just rest the best you can.
Sounds like you'd better start budgeting for bows!
For some reason I cried tonight when I read this post. Kelly, you are handling this situation with such strength, and I pray the Lord continues to heal Harper and bless your family in amazing ways!!!
Wow God is so awesome, I prayed last night that she could get to 95%. I am so happy to see she's at 77%, I will continue to pray for Harper that you and Scott will get good news everyday.
What amazing news on litte Harper! Praying every day for her and you and your family! God has amazing strength! Keep up the hard work Harper, your Mommy and Daddy want to see those beautiful eyes!
Glad to hear about your news. We will continue to pray for you all.
Can't wait to see the big bows you have planned for that beautiful girl of yours.
Oh my goodness! I just found your blog through another blog that had commented on another blog.
Your posts have just had me in tears!!! I am the mother of a 15 year old who was born with only 1/2 a heart. I never had any complications while pregnant, and there was no indication that there was anything wrong with him.
My heart cries out for you and your husband and your precious baby girl. I have spent SO much time in the hospital with my Caleb. And I was a single mom for the first 10 years of his life!
I'm sure you've heard all the encouraging words over and over. I don't know how much more I can say, except that I'm SO glad that you are a believer! God IS sovereign, and He knew this would happen long before Harper was even a twinkle in your eyes. He loved her then, and He loves her now; even more than anyone on this earth loves her.
Sometimes it's hard to see how "all things can work together for good" when you're in the middle of such heartache. Looking back, I can so see how God worked in my life and in my son's life. My husband also had a baby girl who was born with 1/2 a heart, and she only lived for two weeks. God used her life and death to bring hubby to Christ.
He used Caleb's heart problems and resulting strokes as a way to bring me back to Him, after living a lifestyle that was not pleasing to Him. Caleb is a "special needs" kid now, but he is such a blessing, and God has amazing plans for him.
If EVER you need to, PLEASE feel free to contact me. I will even give you my phone number. Even if it's just to pray...or to cry...or because you need to talk. I would LOVE to have the honor of praying with and for you and your family. I will share this with my husband, and as a family, we will be praying for your sweet baby girl, and for your family. I KNOW how it can affect you all.
God bless you!
In Christ's love,
Angie

As a former NICU mom (a two month stint) and student nurse (a result of my experience), my heart, love, and prayers are with your family. Though the road is a difficult one, the blessings come at every turn. Emotions run their own course as they please--just let it happen, because it comes from your heart, your love. You are an amazing and beautiful family with a beautiful gift, (correction--a gorgeous gift) from heaven. If only every child could feel the same love that we all know you have for your child...it's palpable. Our prayers continue for your family and the dedicated staff. Big Hugs from Massachusetts.
Jackie Connolly
Praise God! Many continued prayers for Harper.
Kelly,
I'm glad you are having a better day. NICU stays are marathon's not sprints, and they are draining anyway you look at it. What a roller coaster ride they can be!
I love your joy over Harper's bow!!! I can relate. When the NICU nurses put a bow in my daughter's hair when she was 4 days old I was tickled pink. That's all I cared about that morning was getting a picture of my precious daughter with a bow in her hair. The nurses must have thought I was the most superficial and shallow mom there (I truly am not-lol)as they were prepping her to have heart surgery that morning. But it was just SO important to me to see her with a bow in her hair. It really made the wires, tubes and IV fade out of view and she looked like a BABY GIRL! All I wanted was that picture to share with all the friends and family who couldn't be with us to show off proudly my little girl.
Here's a link if you want to see the pic of my daughter with a bow in her hair. I hope you get a little hope from our story. God truly has worked miracles in our lives.

By the way, I'm Kendra's (Miracle of the Momment) sister. I've been following your blog for the last few months. I love your enthusiasm. Your dad is an amazing writer as well!
Still praying!
It's so amazing to see you smiling so bravely next to your beautiful baby girl even though you must be hurting so much inside, just wishing you could hold and rock her by her crib at HOME with Dawson hanging out at your feet!! Praying that will happen VERY SOON!!! My faith has grown so much from reading about yours and the love of all who are holding you up in prayer and love!

Praise God and his Mighty power!! Keep positive thoughts and sit the devil in his seat! This is wonderful news that brings incredible joy! WOOHOO, Go Harper!
I am continuing to pray for all of you and your family.
Love, Wendy Leonard
I came across your blog from a friend of a friends blog........isn't that how it goes in blog land? :)
I have two NICU graduates that had a long rough road, but I'm happy to say that by the grace and mercy of God they are healthy and hearty boys today. One is 5 and the other is 4. I don't know how people go through times like this with out their faith. God was and is our rock! I have prayed for Harper and will continue to do so. Keep trusting in HIM!
THAT IS FANTASTIC NEWS! We will keep the prayers going up. Have a Blessed Day.
What great news about Harper. I will continue to pray for her. Hope you get to see her eyes look at you soon. Loved the pictures of Dawson. How cute!
