11:30 Saturday
Praise Jesus for He is good!!! Scott just called to tell me that he just went to see Harper and the nurse said she is not even on the list for bypass (ECMO) because the doctor thinks she is responding so well to what they are doing she may not even need it. We were told in not so many words yesterday that she may not survive at all and because of so many prayers all over the world - she is improving hour by hour. We have had so much kindness shown to us over the last 24 hours - I can not even begin to tell you. Scott has had several people that we don't know but who read our blog come to see him and even brought him things. He just called me crying because he couldn't believe the kindness we have been shown. It's so overwhelming. Our whole family has cried so much because of the overwhelming kindness of friends and strangers. It certainly has encouraged us to do more for others ourselves.

5:30 a.m. Saturday
I realize I should be sleeping but it's just not coming and you know how hospitals are - I get woken up every minute anyway. The doctor from the neo-natal unit in Tulsa (yes - it's St. Francis) called me at 4 to let me know Harper was there and she was stable. They are running tests on her heart and her brain and doing a few more things before they can start the bypass. Shortly after - Scott and his parents got there and they got to see her again. I have to say that I have never loved my husband more than I do right now. He has been my rock. We have shed more tears in the last 8 hours than we probably have our entire lives but we also know that we want God to get all the glory and praise and honor in whatever happens in our baby's life.
I have such a peace about her being in Tulsa and it was just confirmed to me as I read the comments and a nurse from pediatrics said the nurses there had already been praying for us. And I just recieved an e-mail from someone who went through an almost identical situation and her daughter is now a healthy 3 year old. Thank you Jesus for sending me all of these encouragers and prayer warriors. It is NOT by accident that so many of you have found my blog and are now praying.

12:30 a.m. Saturday morning

Change of plans - AR children's hospital was all booked up so they are about to fly my baby to Tulsa. They are going to be doing a heart/lung bypass on her and the last time we spoke with the doctor - he gave us more hope. Her heart is just fine. She has pneumonia in her lungs and it's just very, very serious. We were able to go up and see her and touch her. They have her put under and paralyzed so she can't move so they can treat her. But she's just beautiful. She's BIG - but beautiful! ;-) I told her we have so many people praying for her and she is going to live and come home to wear all her pretty monogrammed dresses.
I have been sitting here crying about all the people we have praying for us. I can't even begin to tell you what that means to our family. It was what is keeping me from completely falling apart right now. I have comfort in my Jesus. He will never leave me or forsake me. I don't know what His plans are........whether we will be able to keep Harper on this earth with us or not - but I know that I know that I know that He is good and He loves me and He is holding my hand right now.

I got here through Bring the Rain. I am in prayer for your whole family. For the health of Harper and for the strength you and hubby need right now. God is GOOD!!! He has already done such a miracle for y'all and I know He will continue to heal Harper. Praise God for the power of prayer!!!! We were there just 2 months ago with our 2 year old (caringbridge.org/visit/calebweir) and I KNOW it was prayer that made God heal our boy that weekend. He is still facing trials, but God is still on His throne and taking care of him as He sees fit.

I will continue to pray for your family and look forward to positive updates. God bless y'all!!!!

Bless your heart! You have a family in Central, Texas praying for Harper, you, your husband, and the rest of the family! It really breaks my heart to read this. I was just sent to you from Angie with Angelica Grace Designs. I gave birth to my daughter in August.. we were expecting a healthy baby, she was born with a heart defect and will require open heart surgery before she turns one. When I gave birth.. I have never been so happy and so upset in one day. We were chosen for this for a reason, and let me tell you, we both have SPECIAL and beautiful little girls. God is good and he is protecting our children when we cannot. He is watching over your little girl. I will pray daily for you all. One thing I have been told from many other parents going through similar situations.. girls are strong, and I see this first hand with my daughter and it sounds like little Harper is showing you this as well. I also want to tell you that your faith is amazing. Stay strong! If you need to talk or ask questions about anything, please feel free to email me. I know I had many many questions for other parents. If I can help in any way please let me know. I will soon be sarting a blog, but for now you can email me at welshcrbb@hotmail.com More prayers coming your way!

Blessings & Hugs!

You don't know me but I stumbled across your blog and my heart is racing. I don't know exactly what your baby has, but it sounds very similar to what my son had. He was born via c-section and had trouble breathing. He quickly went on a ventilator and was sedated. He had PPHN and pneumonia. He was on the list for ECMO but responded to the last treatment they could offer him. They did not give us a favorable outcome for our baby. I had never heard of PPHN and was not prepared for the journey we were on. But God was faithful to us and our son came home after 31 days and is perfect! I would love to talk to you and encourage you. Life in the NICU can be very lonely and so scary. If you would like to email me my email address is gretchykins@live.com, please don't hesitate. I have some friends that are from Bentonville. He is a youth pastor at the Nazarene Church. Your family is in our prayers!

Kelly,
I just found your blog from your "praying for Harper" link on a friend's. I will be praying for you, Scott, and Harper. I have tears in my eyes reading your updates. My husband and I JUST went through what you are going through. Our daughter Blair was born with double pneumonia (GBS and yeast) on October 9. My blog has updates from the entire time she was in the NICU. Blair was there a lot longer than babies usually are with pneumonia, but she is home now and doing well. The doctors told us that she is a miracle. God has been so good to us through this whole thing. He gave us such strength and such wonderful people to care for her. I will pray that Harper continues to improve and for wisdom for the doctors and nurses who are taking care of her. Please contact me if you need someone to talk to! I, too, cried many tears. Your faith will pull you through. You have so many folks praying for you. ashleemwood@gmail.com

Dear Kelly,
I found your blog through a friend's. I just just wanted to say that we are praying for you! I know that this time is VERY difficult for you and your family...especially since it sounds like you are not able to be (physically) at the hospital with Harper!
I have really enjoyed looking back over your blog and seeing some of the journey that you have taken to get where you are! What a road filled with obstacles and mountain to climb, but God is awesome!! All things happen in His perfect timing! He is in control! Harper is in His very capable hands and He loves her even more than you and Scott do! He IS able to immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine! I pray that He comfort you through the words and prayers of friends, family, and even complete strangers as you go through this Valley! I am anxious to hear updates on little Harper over the next few days!

I was devistated to hear there were complications. I am praying Harper continues to be a fighter! And congrats Girl! 9-12! My largest was 9-6 as compared to 7-1 and 8-1, whew was that a LOT rougher! Get rest while you can and let others help if they volunteer. . . you need to heal! Looking forward to hearing Harper is home and doing well (and to some beautiful pictures)!

Praise the Lord that she is getting better by the minute. Kelly, we have power in what we speak. Speak healing and wholeness over her. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. God spoke this world into existence and we have authority over so much. When we speak things, we set them in motion. But so few people know to speak what they need. Remember, by His stripes we are healed. I'm looking forward to getting another praise report about her very soon. Blessings to all of you!!!!

I spelt in a chair next to him for 12 nights....and on and on...you know all of this!

Praise our God for His hand being on your beautiful child and your whole family.
PLEASE take care of yourself, too. Everyone told me to be sure of this...it's hard, but needs to be done.
I will anxiously await updates....with all these comments I hope you and I can connect somehow.
hugs to you new friend...I am always available for prayer.

Father God, in your mighty way, touch this family today. Rain down peace and joy in the Holy Spirit...calm them with your peace and comfort them....grammas and grandpas, too...for they love this child like their own.
We put our complete trust in You, oh Lord.

That's wonderful news that she is doing better! I pray for you that she continues to improve and that she will be a healthy little girl who gets to come home soon!

I, like many others, were pointed to your blog to help pray for your little one. Prayers really work wonders. Keep Him with you at all times, and He will show you the way.

Oh Kelly...I've been leading worship all weekend and away from all cell phone/computers.

I am praying! Praise the Lord for the way He is moving and working...we will NOT stop praying for complete healing. He can do it! I had a lady tell me just this weekend about her son being born with downs syndrome and leukemia...they had NO idea..their friends, church and family began to pray...long story..before he was a month old he had been healed...of BOTH. God changed that little boys DNA!!! I tell you that to encourage you to hang on to Jesus! We your blogging family are honored to hold your arms up right now...we are praying and care so much for your entire family....

Much love

Hello again Kelly ~
I had been checking in throughout the day yesterday, hoping to hear more news about Harper. I was thrilled and relieved that she had been improving at your last post. Then I got to reading a ton of the other posts from people who are joining in prayer. How exciting it is to see all these people, now at nearly 8am my local time and already over 1700 posts! It occurred to me last night that there are posts from around the world. And so I would like to share a little story with you...

In 2000, I had a fairly routine surgery and ended up having a tremendous amount of complications afterward. From blood clots in my lungs, my kidneys shutting down, just a horrible mess of problems I began to face. I ended up needing 10 subsequent surgeries following the initial and ended up dying on the table 3 times. But God brought me back, each time! :) Even then when I was in the ICU, barely conscious just after waking up from a 6 week coma, I knew God was doing something incredibly powerful. Whenever I felt like I was losing faith, I would hear of people in China, Turkey, Canada, Austria, (I'm not kidding!) just to name a few, from all over the world that were praying for me. I knew God was strengthening my faith on a very real, daily ~ and sometimes hourly or even by the minute ~ way. I remember hoping that others' lives were being affected in a positive way as well, as they prayed for me. My dad started receiving emails from all over the planet with stories of how people's families were being strengthened and bonded together more tightly as they took time to stop and pray for me and my family. Then I found out that K-Love ~ a Christian radio station near where I was at the time ~ (they may have a station near you in fact!) was stopping their programming once every hour to pray for me over the air. What a shock! Just little ol' me, and they were stopping their show to pray for ME?

The most profound was an email that my Dad had received and brought to the hospital with him so he could read it to me. I still have a copy of the email and will always keep it. I'll simply leave the message my Dad forwarded onto all our extended family and friends...

"A Christian woman in Austria was being appraised of Jessica's condition yesterday when her young child asked her what was wrong. She explained Jessica's situation in a way her 4 year-old child could comprehend and her child left the room while the conversation continued. A few moments later, her child came back into the room with a helium-filled balloon and a pen, then said "Mother, let's take this pen and write our prayers for Jessica on this balloon. Then we can go outside and send our prayers up to God". Today, somewhere over Austria, there was a bright red balloon riding the skies seeking God's healing for our daughter. A balloon with a message inked through the simple faith of a child, floating up to God."

This story in particular touched all 3 of us and we each began to cry. My parents, one on each side of me as he read the email as well as myself. I still cry to this day thinking about that little girl with unwavering faith. It was then, after nearly 20 years of being a Christian, that my parents and I each became *acutely* aware of the real power of prayer.

The day I left the hospital in 2001, I made my own simple practice. Whenever I hear of someone in great need, I would do the same as this little girl and her mother did.

Last night after I checked for any news on your blog one last time, I hurried to the local grocery store. There I bought one single, bright red balloon filled with helium. So Kelly, know that last night over the skies in Phoenix, Arizona, there was a single, bright red balloon with your daughter's name written on it and a prayer that I was sending up to God.

You and yours have *so* many people praying for you regularly. We will all continue to pray for your precious Harper, for you and for your husband. There is some serious power in that alone and I hope that finds you comforted.

God Bless.

My name is Melissa and I am from IL. I would like to tell you that I have a little girl named Alivia, and it was a healthy pregnancy and birth until little Ali was swept away to the NICU. Undoubtedly the scariest, saddest most helpless time in my husband & I's lives. Now we have a perfectly healthy awnry 9mo old who is into everything!!! I know you feel extremely helpless not being able to do anything but the dr are the best! and put your trust and faith in god, he is wonderfuland you will see his miracles I am sure of it. I just came by your sight from MckMama and I have been praying for little Harper as people around the US prayed for our little Ali. The NICU is a scary place but know that Harper is in wonderful hands and that she will be home healthy with you soon and I cannot wait to see pics of her with you very soon!!! God Bless you and know that lots of prayers are comming from IL! Bless you baby Harper!

Kelly, Just wanted to let you know that I posted the "praying for Harper" banner on my blog moments ago with a brief story explaining the events up to this point. You will now have a few hundred more praying for you guys and baby Harper. God is good Kelly. He is soooooo good! I have a motto that I live by in life. It is this:
"There will be years that ask and there will be years that answer. In the end, God NEVER wastes pain!"

Hang on to that motto and your faith. We know God is going to heal your baby girl and that you'll be bringing her home soon to see all of those monogrammed dresses. :)

Remember what I said earlier, stay FIERCE in your faith my Christian sista'! Stay FIERCE girl!

HUGE hugs to all of you,

This is my first time on your blog and just glancing through it, I can feel the love you have for your little girl.

I am not very good with words, so I will send you some((((HUGS))))

Kelly, I am sorry it has taken me so long to post. I read about you on "Nina's Blog" and on KappaPrep's blog. I just did a post on my blog asking for prayers for Harper and I added your little image...so precious. The pictures of your angel are adorable.

Just remember Jeremiah 29:11 (my favorite verse and I read it every day) "'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for evil, to give your a future and a hope.'"

God Bless your little family and I will pray for you all.

I read about your baby on the Audry Caroline blog. My baby was born with a not so serious condition. We live close to Tulsa and saw the drs. at the pediatric cardiologist office there at Saint Fransis. Our doctor was Dr. Kimberling. He is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist Unoversity and is one of the Godliest men I know. Hang in ther and know that we are praying!
