What I did this Weekend

We had a pretty low key weekend but we had a little fun thrown in here and there!

Friday night - my friend Julie has been on bed rest for back pain and she also has pneumonia - so I picked up Chili's to go for them and did a double order for us! I also ran by Hobby Lobby and got stuff to make a wreath. I have been needing something on my front door but I hate paying $100-200 that the speciality stores cost so I got everything half off and it cost about $25. It's not the prettiest - but it will do!
Saturday it was dark and rainy and it was a good day for staying in. I literally did nothing but lay around watching lifetime and the food network. AHHHH - my kind of weekend. The weather changed around one and the sun came out and it got extremely hot. I had to take a meal to a couple in our class who just had a baby so I took the lazy way out again and picked up Papa Murphy's pizza and took it over and visited with them for a while.
Saturday night - we went out to eat at Fish City Grill with Steve and Laurie. It might possibly the last time we do something with them as a family of THREE. :-) After we ate - we went over to Chuck E. Cheese and played games. I'm pretty sure the guys had a better time than Emily did. It was a circus in that place.
Then we decided we were all craving Dairy Queen. Can you say BLIZZARDS????? YUM-O!

It was such a fun night with such good friends!
Today we had another awesome church service. We have a retired pastor who recently joined our church and he is originally from Scotland. I love to hear him preach. Today he preached on Trusting God and it was so good. He quoted so many of the verses that I have been reading over and over and praying to God as we wait for a baby. It was a very uplifting sermon.
My blogging (and now real life) friend Sarah sent me a text yesterday to say they were coming to town for a shower and could we meet them for lunch today?
So we met up at Mimi's and it was fun to visit with them. Her husband Jon and Scott both are "computer nerds" so they had some things to talk about. And I got to talk to Sarah about the BABY she is expecting!!! So exciting about what a miracle has happened to her!
I came home and started flipping between the very first Bachelor on VH1 and "Say Yes to the dress" (have you ever watched this? LOVE IT!) and fell asleep. And I just woke up from a FOUR hour nap. Yikes!
Tonight is a brand new season of "the next food network star". So excited about this. I have to have a little something to watch over the summer! :-)

I'm glad you had such a great weekend. We had a weekend with family and it was nice. I like your wreath. I had wreaths up for the fall and Christmas, but need something new for my door now. I've seen "Say Yes to the Dress." The dresses are beautiful. I wonder what kind of dress I would have if I got married now.

Kelly - I know it is so hard as you wait for God to answer your prayers concerning a baby. I just felt lead to encourage you today and tell you to hang in there and keep praying for God's will. It can be so difficult at times, but as my doctor told me, "Your faith will get you through it." Hugs!

Sounds like a perfect weekend to me! And you are just the sweetest friend taking food over. I know it is so appreciated!! Glad you had some good times with your people--that Emily is TOO CUTE. And those blizzards...I think you can guess my feelings on those. :)

Have a great night!!

P.S. I LOVE 'Say Yes to the Dress' and I am so pumped about 'Next Food Network Star' starting up. I became obsessed last summer (with that and Army Wives). Happy viewing, my dear!

Wow! Pretty Wreath! I hate it that Julie is sick. We've never been to Fish City Grill. I bet is was great! You can't go wrong with DQ blizzards. Yes, the sermon was wonderful. Also, I bet you had a blast with Sarah! FUN! Oh and I'll watch the next food network star also!

Your wreath looks so pretty! You did a great job on that!

I love weekends with lots of hanging out and napping. haha But you are probably going to have a hard time going to sleep tonight! That always happens to me. Then the next day you're tired again. Uuggh!

How fun to get to spend time with Sarah! Be encouraged that the miracle that has happened to her is still in God's timing for you! I am still praying for you!

Anyway--I've never seen Say Yes to the Dress. I bet my girls have though. I'll have to look for it!

Have a good week! :)

I love your wreath. You are so crafty! That is an adorable pic of you and Laurie! I know she has to be sooo ready. I've never had a Blizzard, but I'm sure I would love it. I love that you got to see Sarah again. Isn't she precious! Did I ever tell you she is Evan's speech therapist? She is wonderful as a therapist, and I now consider her my friend, too. You are still so tan! I'm so jealous. I am PASTY white. I need sun in the worst way! Ha! A 4 hour nap sounds DIVINE!

I think your wreath is beautiful and looks just like something in those overpriced stores!

I wish I could have gotten a 4 hr. nap in, but it just wasn't happening today. We leave at midnight for a trip to Washington DC with a group of kids. I probably won't sleep for 24 hrs, but if I can find a Starbucks, I'll be good!

I thought about you the other day when I was reading People Magazine. It was either the issue with Ashlee Simposon's wedding or the one before that. Not the newest with Shania Twain. Anyway there was an article about this sister who carried her sisters baby for her, but in the article the sister who was having trouble getting pregnant named some sites she had used about fertility. She ended up getting pregnant. I thought you might want to read the article and checkout what all she did in trying to get pregnant.

Kelly - lovin' all your dresses! The cuteness! A word of encouragement: it took me a year an a half to get pregnant. I finally learned to "let go and let God" and it happened when I least expected it. And, from experience, I can tell you that it was God's perfect, perfect timing. Also, thanks for the comments about my favorite room...I'll post a tour soon!

You are crazy talented friend!!! I wish I could do something like that. The wreath is beautiful!!

I listened to a good portion of Adrian Rogers message. I thought it just God to have him be talking about unanswered prayer and have Adrian Rogers use the story of John the Baptist birth as the reference. He could have used Daniel or any others. But nope, God had him use the example of infertility as his scripture reference. What an amazing God to have Him speak to us in this way!!

Hey there! I stumbled across your blog through Lauren Ames. I LOVE reading it! I especially loved your blogging during your time in Hawaii because it is my most favorite place in the entire world! Your faith while praying for a baby is such a testimony and i commend you! God is faithful and will fulfill his good works in your life. Take care!

Thank you so much for stopping by my new blog and for your very sweet words about my daughter, Faith. I appreciate your prayers for her and Chad and I, too, believe that God has a special blessing in store for them. I understand from your blog that you are also praying for a child and I will join with you to pray for that request. Thank you for sharing about Adrian Rogers --he is one of my all-time favorite preachers and I listened to the entire sermon last night! What a great message of encouragement! I love the wreath that you made for your door! You have a very cute blog and I enjoyed visiting it. May I also add that you are such a beautiful girl and I look forward to getting to know you better. Thanks again for your kind words and please visit me anytime.

Love your wreath! I love silk arrangements! I want a new front door wreath -- our hanging baskets is taking a beating from all this high winds and heavy storms we keept getting. I almost feel bad for the silly thing--it has flown all over the yard after every storm! Guess it's time for a new one. :)
