Christmas is over

There is only one thing I don't like about Christmas - taking down the decorations. Not my favorite activity. I spent the afternoon getting it all down and put up. It only took me about three hours. I tried to keep it as organized as possible by tubs so that the next year is pretty easy. Now I just have to scoot off to Wal-Mart to get a few more tubs and vacuum up all the glitter and fake pine needles that are covering our floor.
The good news is that I have the next two days off and our only plans are to relax and veg in our PJ's. I think I may make a quick jaunt to Tar-Jay tomorrow. I got a gift card for Christmas and I want to check out after Christmas sales. Other than that - I plan to watch a lot of TV and movies and get ready to start a new year at work.
My house always seems so empty after I take down the Christmas decorations. Don't you all feel that way?

Yes, I feel that way too. My living room looks much bigger like something is missing. On the other hand, I'm always in the mood to clean after Christmas. It's making way for new stuff we get and I always feel like I have to move things to get everything really clean. Justin hates that, but I feel better knowing things are cleaner. Enjoy your days off!

I know what you mean. However, I actually liked the fact that so much light was able to come in our front window again now that the tree was gone. It's definitely not as much fun taking it all down. Luckily for me this year, Derek did it for me while I napped with Ella Grace. What a great surprise, huh? I'm a lucky girl! Happy New Year!

I've been trying to take our stuff down for two days--it's a mess around here, but I'm making progress. Our house seems empty too. :(

I definitely do not enjoy taking down the decorations! And I get the urge to pre-spring clean at this time, even though I don't really want to!

After the holidays are over, I'm ready for spring. By February I start going nuts with spring fever. By April, I'm sneezing, but I'm in heaven. :)

I am so jealous of you and Jamie...that it's already done. I haven't even started dismantling things around here.

Yes my living room feels empty and bigger. My little girl was so upset. She just sat there and watched her Daddy and me take down the tree...she was so sad. She did ask me if we could still listen to Christmas music. I guess we will be dancing to Christmas tunes well into the spring! HA! Enjoy your next few days off! Happy New Year!

I'm jealous...you already have your stuff put away. That's what I'm doing tomorrow! Yuck! I hope it doesn't take me 3 hours. I am a little sad that it has to go away for another year!

I leave the tree up for a few more days, but I definitely have the urge to redecorate and spring clean. In fact my office is already on the short list of rooms to be painted in January!

I definitely feel the same. But at the same time it is a relief to have it all down and start fresh for the new year.
